When you think of Canada, rugged wilderness most often comes to mind. And that's exactly what Danner thought of when they designed the Canadian Hunting Boot. Built to take you anywhere your big-game hunting adventures lead, they will get you there and back in comfort, warmth, and protected from the elements. The full-grain leather uppers are waterproof, and when combined with the GORE-TEX® liner, you get complete protection from moisture penetration. But because the GORE-TEX® lining is breathable, foot perspiration is allowed to escape to keep your feet from feeling clammy. For warmth, Danner added lightweight 600-gram Thinsulate™ insulation, so your feet stay warm as well as dry. Removable Airthotic™ cushioned insole provides arch support and keeps your heel in place with each and every step. Stitchdown construction gives added stability as well. The Danner bob outsole provides great traction on all types of terrain, and the bob design helps shed mud and snow.
Made in USA.
Height:
12".
Weight: 4.5 lbs. per pair.
Men's sizes: 8-14 D width, 8-13 EE width. Half sizes to 12.

Best Boots Ever!!!!, January 27, 2009
By takeayoungnhuntn from Dover, Arkansas

"I purchased a pair of the Danner Canadian boots in 1999 and am still wearing them on the original soles. I only wear them in the colder parts of the Arkansas winters, but have never had a single issue with these boots. My feet stay warm and dry and very comfortable even on multiple hour/mile hikes. I wish I could find an uninsulated version because I love the look and the durability of these boots so much. I don't even remember how long it took to break them in, but it really doesn't matter because they are so comfortable now. I'm sure if they had taken long to break in I would have remembered though. In my book all other boots are to be compared to the Danner line."

danner canadian boot, January 23, 2009
By bootnut

"very good winter boot. warm. dries out very quickly. surprising lightweight. reasonably comfortable right out of box. 4 seasons later, holding up very well. love love love made in USA. a little tight across the toes. i can wear only wool dress socks or sock liners. i'm not a hunter, don't care for the "bob" outsole. when it comes time to resole the boots, i will probably switch to a more traditional vibram pattern (danner told me they could do this.) were i buying these again, i would probably buy the Fort Lewis 600. Very similar boot in black with vibram sole. That said, an excellent boot. comfortable and very well made."

"i recently purchased these boots and i have worn them every chance i get. they are so comfortable and they have great ankle support which is a big deal to me because i have a really weak right ankle. they are expensive but worth every penny. the other thing i really liked about them is that i was able to get them in a EEE width as i have very wide feet."

RETIRE WITH THESE BOOTS, October 19, 2008
By 4Birddogs from Tulsa, Oklahoma

"I have had my Canadian boots for 10 years and have had them recrafted only once. They comeback from Danner like new, but feel the same. What a way to get a new pair of boots. Top recraft price $150. Great deal! I walked in streams and wet marsh Pheasant hunting and never a leak and never cold in sub zero temp. Go for the gold. Their high $$, but you get what you pay for. Little heavy, but the support is great. I have weak ankles. 10" is the way to go.
Good Hunting

best boots, December 20, 2007
By Kakowan from Mtns. of NE Oregon

"I bought my first pair in 1995 and decided to retire them this winter. 12 years of archery and rifle seasons, numerous fishing trips and winters in the snow. I decided I needed new boots and my first choice was the Canadians. The first day I wore them was like putting on my old friends. No brake in period just go on your next adventure. In 10 or 12 years I will buy another pair. I've recommended these boots to all my hunting buddies and they agree too. Summer, winter spring or fall the very best outdoor enthuiasts boots you can buy."

Wow, hats off to Danner, May 20, 2007
By RandoOTM2 from Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, CA

"I have day hiked with them in the winter, multi day back packed with them in the winter (0 degrees F), and have worn them here and there. Wow. They are strong, durable, stiff, yet reasonable flexible, warm, shed mud and snow effectively (like nothing I have ever seen before), and look good too. I have even used them with flexible crampons on 45 degree slopes (which I doubt they were intended for). God job Danner! Thanks again."

Mixed performance, with distinct limitations, March 8, 2007
By lpasztor from Carlisle, PA

"I wore a pair of these US-made Danner boots on a caribou hunt in Quebec and on a caribou hunt in the Aleutians in Alaska. Both hunts required extensive hiking and mountain trekking. The soles gave good purchase on all terrain and truly are more or less self-cleaning. The Gore Tex liners held up admirably during numerous stream crossings on the Alaskan hunt; however, the uppers did not offer much support, especially when edging along mountainsides. The internal heel counter on one of my boots collapsed, making that boot unserviceable. Thankfully, Danner repaired it at no charge. Also, the boots are cut narrow and have low volume so do not fit my feet particularly well, despite the fact that I purchased EE's and a half size larger than usual. I replaced these boots with Cabela's Uninsulated 8" Mountain Hunters which seem to fit much better and have more rigidity for mountain trekking."

The best boots, November 20, 2006
By Dave2006 from Yellowknife Northwest Territories

"I have owned a pair of these boots for years, I also had a pair of Danner Timber-wolfs which predated these boots, but were essentially the same. I used these boots in the course of my work as a Conservation Officer in the High Arctic of Nunavut Canada. These boots keep you warm and dry in the most extreme condition. Once I had to hike 40 miles in one day and never received even the smallest blister. I calculated that I must have put 2000miles on the first pair of boots. The leather was still good and the gore-tex liner still kept the water out. I only retired them due to them needing to be resoled. I gave them to a friend, he got them resoled and put them back in service. My current boots are still going strong, after 6 years. They were used extensively on King William Island in the central Arctic where the land is shallow bogs and lime stone scree. This has to be the toughest country on boots, and these boots with their height and durability come through with flying colors."

Danner Canadian 600, November 15, 2006
By Multiplehunter from Rural Missouri

"This product is built for the hunter in many different interests. I have had mine now for over 10 seasons and have only put some glue on the front seams where the laces come to the toe. It has taken 10 years of wear and tear to deteriorate the leather to the state it is in but they are still going, I thought paying what I did for them was insane but now I know why they cost what they do. I have hunted everything from ducks to Deer in these boots and logged a lot of miles behind dogs after pheasants and quail, these boots are very tough and may not be the lightest boots for upland hunting but the durability is unmatched, to the craftsmen who made them a big thanks, thay are worth every penny! I will go back with the same boot when these finally give up the hunt. Until then I have a good trial on them and am still going. Thanks again."
