"I bought this rainsuit (bibs and jacket) last minute before a Wy. elk hunt. The first day my guide made me take off my goose down jacket because it was too loud. The only option I had at that point was the MT050 jacket. It was perfect. Layered with heavy fleece underneath, it worked great on the -8 day as well as all the other day long snowstorms we had. I can vouch for it in the driving snow, but I'd bet it holds up well in rain too."

"I bought this Gore Tex jacket (and bibs) primarly for use when the weather got wet and windy. So far I have used it on four outings in rainy weather and both the jacket and bibs leak trough the seams when the rain are heavy.
To return the outfit from across the pond (Norway) with all the tax/custom red tapes involved is not an issue. So I will keep it, but not as a rough weather set. Otherwise the fabric was quiet and the cut is comfortable.
But as a bottom line, this was a bit dissapointing..."

"This jacket is great! Had 5 deer within 5 yards of me eating as I was sitting on the ground in front of bush. They didn't smell or hear me, but the wind was right so that made all the difference. I think the scent lok stuff is worth having, but if the wind is wrong, I don't think it matters."

"I received this jacket as a birthday gift from my wife and I wanted to test it out in the elements of a hunting situation. It was raining really good one day so I deceided to take the dogs for a walk - cool 35 deg. the jacket and pants set preformed just as i expected - stayed dry, breathed well, felt light weight, and stayed quiet moving through the growing grass and shrubery.
I picked this pair out carefully after reviewing the reviews and as with almost all the Cabelas things I buy they work as designed. I have a Elk hunting trip planned for October in Montana and I feel with this set-up I will be able to stay dry and light on my feet."

"I have used the MT050 Gore-Tex, Revolution Fleece Dry-Plus and Super Slam Elite Fleece Dry-Plus in extreme weather conditions - 3 straight days of pouring rain in the Colorado wilderness to be exact. My old MT050 rain gear kept me dry as a bone and the newly purchased Dry-Plus products did not keep me dry, which was very disappointing because it is pretty nice gear. I returned the Dry-Plus and paid the extra money for a complete set of the MT050 rain gear in Scent-Lok."

"3 years ago my hunting buddy told me to quit being cheap and buy the MT50 Jacket and Bibs with Gortex and Scentloc. (He has worn his on trips to Alaska and Canada). After hunting this past weekend in upper 30 degree rain, snow and wind, I'm convnced. I bought the uninsulted version and stayed dry, warm and as a bonus filled my tag. Now I'm telling you, it's worth every penny, you won't be sorry. A big investment but a Great Quality Product. I wish I had listened sooner!"

"Anyone who has hunted in upstate NY knows that the weather can turn on a dime. Last Sunday while bow hunting with my Lone Wolf Climber Alpha Hand Climber (also highly recommended) it did just that. It was fairly sunny and 50 degrees to start, then a major front moved through and the temperature dropped and so did the rain. Instead of descending the tree during the storm, I stuck it out. The MT050 Scent-Lok kept me warm and dry during the whole storm and while I walked back to my house through water soaked brush. As an engineer I know how important it is to have the best materials for the job, I only use GORE-TEX. The fleece is whisper quiet and the camo pattern is superb (Real Tree AP). Uninsulated is great for early season bow and spring turkey. I have the Insulated version also that I use when the mercury drops. The Scent-Lok also works great, the weekend before I shot my first buck with a bow just 15 yards, did I mention I was on the ground!!! He didn't see or smell me! If you want the best BUY THIS PRODUCT, you're buddies will all be inside while your hunting! YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET."

"I bought the jacket for my husband for his birthday. He was absolutely thrilled with the quality and design. The only negative comment that he had was that it would be nice if the jacket had some inside pockets. The polar fleece is unbelievable. He purchased it for the last hunting season and from now on, this is the only underwear that he will use. While his hunting companions went back to the cabin, he was able to stay as long as he wanted without experiencing any chill. The fleece pulls moisture away from the skin and keeps the body toasty. I purchased him a second set for Christmas. We also purchased a third set for our son for his birthday. We cannot say enough about the Polar fleece and have been recommending it to everyone; even friends that have outside jobs in our Buffalo Winters."

"I bought this outfit for those rainy days and it is 100% waterproof like it says(unlike a lot of other companys claims). It is not the most quiet material, but as far as rain gear goes it is the most quiet so far. I prefer wool on those dry days and this outfit fits over my wool perfectly when needed during cold weather drizzle and snow."

"I have been using my MT050 Scent-Loc Jacket for six seasons and I liked it so much I bought my wife one. This jacket provides an excellent outer layer for almost any weather, while blocking human scent.
The MT050 Scent-Loc Jacket is so well made that after six years of of almost daily wear and weekly washings September through February my jacket looks as-good-as-new.
My wife, who is always cold, reaches for this jacket on every outing. The jacket is the perfect length to keep her warm with getting in the way during long wait on stand. With the jacket completely buttoned up and the hood secured, this jacket offers a complete barrier against the elements.
The pockets are well placed and offer enough room for the essentials without adding unnecessary bulk. The small chest pocket has a wide range of uses including keeping a deer call warm and ready for use.
This is one those items I may buy another as a back-up just in case somehting happens to the first one."
