Soaked in Alaska,September 14, 2009
By sparkyflafrom Tallahassee, FL
"I bought this suit for a drop camp trip to Alaska because I thought it was top of the line gear. During light rain and mist on the first couple of days of the hunt this suit seemed to repel water for the most part. On the way back to camp at the end of day 2, the steady rain started and the suit soaked though and all my underlayers also got soaked. In the wet conditions it held water like a sponge and would not dry out. The majority of the next three days had heavy rain and could not leave the tent with the wet rain suit. Needless to say I will not go on another hunting trip without an old basic rubber type rainsuit as a backup which only two of our group had. The suit is relatively quiet for a rain suit but not completely silent during movement. I got this on sale but I am probably going to return it to Cabella's which has always been good to deal with."
MT050 Jacket,September 8, 2009
By WyBowhunterfrom Cheyenne, WY
"Well what are the pants without the jacket? Its like the wife wearing her church dress with no neck accessories. Be loud, cold and wet in your cheaper wet weather uniform or join the rest of us who consistently kill big animals while wearing MT050! Whip out the card and start earning points!"
MTO 50 Rainwear,August 18, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Upstate New York, Adirondack foothills
"For years I heard about MTO 50 raingear but was opposed to the higher price than other raingear. In planning for a week of fly fishing on Alaskas Alagnak River I decided to try it as my old rain gear... well it was old and leaked at the seams. One morning it was 35 degrees and then it started to rain. Our daily routine was on the water at 8AM and off at 5 PM. It rained and rained hard all day. 9 of us in camp and 8 were soaked through. Their rain gear had failed. Wearing a set of whicking undies, a layer of fleece and my new MTO 50.. I was warm, dry and comfortable all day. Everyone else spent hours trying to dry things out. Thanks to my new MTO 50 I wasn't one of them. Greatest raingear I've had EVER."
The BEST available - BAR NONE,June 22, 2009
By MarkgHfrom Stevens Point, Wisconsin
"The title says it all. I bought this jacket when it first came out several years back. As luck would have it, the entire suit got stolen from me last fall during duck hunting. I go up to the boundary waters every spring and had to have rain gear. I looked around for other cheaper suit since these are rather expensive. Well I looked and looked and tried many others, but none compared - bar none. You can find cheaper, but not better. Whether it is cold, wet and freezing or a hot summer downpour the MTO50 is just has no equal for comfort or function."
"GREAT INVESTMENT! I WAS RECENTLY OUT TURKEY HUNTING, WHEN IT STARTED POURING DOWN THE RAIN, I STAYED DRY THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE DAY. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE."
"I believe MT050 is the best raingear available . I have the insulated and now uninsulated MT050 coats and think they are the best full stop!!! Thank Cabelas , you have kept me dry when winter goose hunting and spring pig/turkey hunting ..."
Excellant Product,March 8, 2009
By TrophyChasersfrom California, Out of State Trophy Hunter Group
"We have used MTO50 gear for both rifle and archery hunts for many years. There is no better rain gear on the market. We have never been wet and that's what it is all about. We backpack deep into wilderness areas so weight and high quality waterproof gear is a must.
The MTO50 is quiet enough for any type of hunting.
This gear is worth every penny. We have used the same gear six years on hunts from below zero degree 0 F days, in rain or snow to 90 F plus degree days as an early moring or evening outer layer. It is part of our survival gear in the back country and it goes where we go. We wash it in scent killer laundry products, spray it with scent killer and it goes over our other scent-lok cloths when needed.
Same gear six years no leaks and still tick'n. Through all the washings the camo colors are as bright as the day we bought them."

"I have not been able to test this coat out yet. Waiting for spring turkey season. I have not been able to find a good coat since I lost my Gore Tex coat three or four years ago. I have been looking and trting different ones and have not been impressed yet. I will add to this review when I test this one out."
Gore tex Jacket,December 31, 2008
By halowefrom Georgia
"Gore Tex Jacket. I went hunting shortly after receiving the Jacket. The weather was somewht cold, brought on by a slight wind and misting rain. I put on the Jacket, and it kept me dry and added warmth to my under-jacket, and I was comfortable the entire hunt."

Cabela's MTO50 jacket and pants,December 4, 2008
By arkansashillbilly2008
"The pants and jacket are a must for the serious hunter. They make the difference of whether you are going to be in the woods on a rainy windy day. Just recently purchased them and hunted with several other buddies in which all stayed in camp while I hunted and took a nice 8 pointer. I never realized how important great raingear could be, until I purchased the mto50 set......great product and also great discount. thanks Cabela's"

"i have the bibs also and the combo of the jacket and bibs was good. I used them during my oregon elk hunt and stayed dry all day long from being out in the rain."
"The jacket is very good overall. Kept me warm in sub-freezing temperatures. Offers good freedom of movement. Quiet. Lacks an inside zipper to allow a zip-in liner. The sleeves are bit short, although did not restrict movement while upland bird hunting."
