After a full day of shooting, a fully loaded game bag can put a strain on your back. So to make your
days afield more enjoyable, we designed this vest with an integral adjustable waist belt that equally
distributes the weight to your hips. This unique design also prevents the straps from cutting into your
shoulders when the bag is filled. The bag and the front pockets are constructed of rugged,
weatherproof 330-denier Cordura® nylon. The game bag bottom is made from blood-proof,
polyurethane-coated 600mm nylon and all straps are tough 100% nylon webbing. Game bag is
expandable to accommodate a day's bag limit and the bag zips open for easy access and cleaning. The
large front pockets snap closed and are roomy enough to accommodate a box of shells each. Ten
exterior elastic shell loops on the front are covered to keep your ammunition safely in place. An extra
snap-closed pocket on the back makes a great place for storing extra gear for you or your dog (on
Tan/Blaze models this is Blaze). Adjustable nylon straps with quick-release buckles on the game bag
give you a place to cinch down rainwear or your jacket as temperatures warm up. Imported. Waist sizes:M(32-34), L(36-38), XL(40-42), 2XL(44
-46), 3XL(48-50). Colors: Tan/Blaze, Tan.

Desert Vest,October 29, 2009
By AzUplanderfrom AZ
"I would rate this vest just average. I like its lightweight design and shell pockets and I like the extra cago pockets. It would be nice to have the option of a hydration syytem in this vest for dogs or the warm Arizona climate that I hunt in. The support strap that conects the two straps in the back is a little annoying and I would like to have a chest strap in the front."

A good vest,October 26, 2009
By AlaskanGeekfrom Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
"I like everything about this vest. The look, feel and fit. It holds the perfect amount of shells for a nightly grouse/rabbit hunt. It has plenty of pockets for your extra stuff (gloves, dog trainer, snack bar, etc....) Another thing I really love about it, is the fact you are able to get it without any blaze orange anywhere on it.
The only thing I found that sorta annoys me is that the "T" strap on the back is not free sliding. I have been able to compensate for this my the using the sholder strap front sliders. It is a very minor issue and would not let it keep me from buying this vest."

High hopes shot down,October 12, 2009
By SadieKfrom Houston TX area
"I'm a rookie upland hunter with new bird dog...so I needed to purchase a nice quality blaze vest. I used this vest one time on a very hot morning in TX and after carrying a bottled water in the side pocket ...I noticed that the pocket was torn. I sewed it back together with fishing line and plan to use it again this season rather that go to the trouble of shipping it back."

Worked well for desert quail hunt,October 8, 2009
By Deweythemanfrom Colorado
"Just finished 3 days in the Arizona desert hunting Gambel's quail up and down valleys, gulleys and the sides of mountains. Lots of heavy brush and stickers. The vest held several bottles of water, a radio and 2 boxes of shells comfortably. A third snap on the back outer pouch might be useful but didn't have any problems without it."

Survival vest!,September 19, 2009
By OlympicMountainHunterfrom Olympic Peninsula, Washington
"I have turned my hunting efforts with firearms, to hunting with camera. I ride abandoned logging rodes, and forest service roads on a motorcycle looking for wildlife, and landscapes. This vest has become my survival kit. It carries everything I need to survive in the Olympics for at least three days, despite the weather conditions. It can be loaded to disperse the weight evenly and sits low around my hips leaving my upper body free to use the camera, and helps with a low center of gravity on the motorcycle. The Blaze color lends some assurance that hunters will not mistake me for an animal, (and may assist rescue to spot me at the bottom of some canyon). I am very pleased with its construction and fit. The only thing I can suggest to improve on it is that the waist strap should be adjustable on both ends of the strap not just one side, to allow even adjustment when you are wearing it over bulky cloths. Other than that I rate it very highly.

Ultimate Strap vest,September 10, 2009
By ERMac
"Very functional. The only problem was the support strap that cuts across the back of my neck. I made a few alterations (cut it out) and the vest was fine. Pockets were useful and the rear pouch had plenty of space. Good Product...Just needs a couple minor tweaks."

Undecided,September 10, 2009
By gt1900
"I have this vest sitting in my closet at home. I still have the tags attached because I can't determine if I like it. It is a great vest, nice pockets, good fit, fairly light. But what I don't like is the sholder straps. The support strap that conects the two straps forces the shoulder straps into my neck! I could cut the strap and move in towards the base of vest, but I don't feel I should have to do that on a brand new vest. It wouldn't be a problem when wearing a coat, but during warm upland weather I won't be. Im buying a couple other vests to compare before I make my final decision. If the straps don't bother you this is a great vest."

Field Vest,February 12, 2009
By DrQuailfrom Fresno, CA
"I built something like this 10 years ago, this one is as good as my original design. Carries a good load in addition to distributing the weight. Hunted it to 11,000' for White Tailed Ptarmigan in the Sierras, great piece of equipment. Best, jw"

Better then the old design,January 27, 2009
By RBfromNHfrom NH
"I initially bought Cabelas older design of strap vest when it was on sale. I really didn't like that design as it was just as heavy as my vest and didn't provide the lightweight option I was looking for. Haven't had a chance yet to hunt this vest, but initial impressions are it is exactly what I was looking for, light weight, minimal storage and comfort on warm days."

Upland vest,January 24, 2009
By ECBillfrom Central Valley, California
"Hunted about 15 days with this vest and it works very well. After the first hunt I cut off the cross strap in the back just below the neck, it interferes with how the shoulder straps hang on my shoulders (I wear a large shirt size so you can get a sense). So, consider cutting it completely off if you experience an odd fit. Game bag holds three pheasants well."

Strap vest almost a perfect fit,January 21, 2009
By steadytowingfrom Georgia
"I really love this vest. As a southern ruffed grouse hunter I walk many miles searching. I need weight efficient clothes. This vest is lite. However, I am broad shouldered and the horizontal strap between the shoulder blades catches right on top of my neck. I will cut it, heat it to seal the threads, and stitch in a short piece of elastic to break the line a little.
I love the pockets and look, and general fit. This is a well built product. All stitching is well placed and sturdy. I expect many years worth of companionship from this vest."

Lightweight vest with some nice features!,January 10, 2009
By Sportnlyffrom San Diego, but will hunt anywhere...
"This is one of three vests I purchased recently and I rate it as okay, but second best behind Cabela's Deluxe Upland Vest. Positive features include the fact that this vest is lighter and has slightly larger bellows type pockets that should reduce the number of shells that fall out when a hunter bends down to pick up a bird or spent shells. Deeper pockets yet, and a bit of elastic in the top seam would help to minimize this problem as well. Another positive is that when properly adjusted, game can be placed in the zip down game bag without requiring the help of another hunter or removal of the vest. One feature that I do not care for is the over heavy duty waist strap and buckle that would be better suited as a lap belt in the cockpit of an F-16. If it had a functional purpose (such as leaving room to accommodate a heavy accessory like a holster for a water jug, binocular or camera, this heavy of a belt and and buckle could be justified. At this point, I'm hoping for an off-season marriage between this vest and the Deluxe Upland Vest that will produce an offspring with: 1. The comfort, dual divided pockets, waist belt and mesh game bag of the deluze vest, and 2. The deeper bellows bottom pockets and lighter weight of the strap vest. 3. A color hybrid (camo) that allows the basic upland vest to be functional when hunting ducks and turkeys as well."

easy access and very adaptable,December 31, 2008
By skramerfrom Northeast Ohio
"Unlike most vests which require you to be a gymnast to access the rear pockets and game bag, this vest puts everything within reach. The web straps have a great amount of adjustment which allow me to use this vest for warm, early season dove hunting all the way through late season pheasant and rabbits when I am wearing multiple layers. This vest is light, durable, and a great buy."
