The 12" Outfitters, with 600-gram Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation, is the choice for still hunting or other cold-weather activities when a heavily insulated boot would just be too much. The Pittards® full-grain leather offers durability and waterproofness unmatched by other leathers. These insulated Outfitters, with their aggressive airbob and 3/8" cleated rubber outsoles, give you confidence to take on any terrain. Goodyear® welt construction makes resoling easy, so you can enjoy their comfort long after you've worn the first set of soles out. Shock-absorbing EVA midsole soaks up the blows dished out by hard terrain so your ankles, knees and legs won't have to. A removable foam footbed covered with moisture-wicking polypropylene gives them extra cushioning and moisture-wicking power. And, the unique lace-to-toe construction helps lash them to your foot for maximum ankle support and comfort. A GORE-TEX® and moisture-wicking lining pulls perspiration away from your socks and feet, and the padded collar and tongue prevent blisters that can put a painful end to an otherwise successful day of hunting.

600 grm 12 inchers - GREAT!,January 2, 2008
By birddudefrom Carlsbad, New Mexico
"I work as a wildlife biologist for a federal agency. To date, I have purchased and worn out 5 pair of these outstanding boots and will order my next pair very soon. I love the 12 inch height because in the Guadalupe Mtns. in New Mexico we have LOTS of agave, cacti, and cat-claw. I get about 2 years out of a pair of these boots. I consider that as excellent! I have calculated that I get about 1,800 to 2,000 miles out of a set before the tred is gone and the leather and stitching give way. I not only hunt and work in these boots but I also work as a wildland firefighter in them. The high heat is very hard on the leather (very high quality leather in these boots), so when it starts cracking (always at the the toe-bend area) and the stitching wears out, I'm nether supprised or dissapointed. I love these boots. I also love the air-bob tred. DON"T change it! I do not care a bit if the tred packs mud or snow (it does). I DO care that the tred continues to help me go where I need to go(it does). The tred has served me extremely well and has allowed me to get out and back from many extremely steep rock ledges where I probably should not have been in the first place. These boots keep my feet warm in the winter and from blistering (on the tops) in the summer. Yep, I wear them all year. The insulation works both ways, it often gets extremely hot on the top of your feet in the desert. The only change I would suggest is that there be a fold or bend notch added to the front of the ankle lace area. That area can pinch when the laces are tied as tight as I need them when traversing extremely steep slopes. I currently skip the first wire loop up from the eyelets to allow the needed flex in that area, but thereby sacrificing a bit of ankle support."

Great Boots at a Great Price,November 18, 2009
By Fredonfrom Duluth, MN
"This is the second pair I've owned--the first lasted fifteen years. Just the right amount of insulation for October hunting in Northern MN, and the 12" height comes in handy when crossing small creeks or swamps."

Look great -thats it,November 16, 2009
By 7Bullsfrom Gig Harbor, WA
"These look great and are very good boots for standing in the cold or snow but that’s it. I purchased these boots months in advance to hunting season to break in. When you put them on and just stand they are extremely comfortable. I do very heavy hiking for deer and elk up major valleys and mountains. During the first weekend of deer season they killed my feet. Specifically both heals rubbed hard on any trail climbs. Also both boots tend to bend into the ankle pretty hard creating sore spots on both inner ankles. Light hunters and minor walkers these would work great but not for heavy stalkers and climbers. Luckily I took them back to the store and they allowed a return for a different pair of boots. I ended up getting the Irish Setter 1857 Trophy Quest in the 600 gram Thinsulate. Never purchased an Irish Setter boot before but they were fantastic. Without any breaking time them were extremely comfortable. Hunted in both rain and snow during elk and they were warm, dry and very comfortable. Excellent boot that I wished I would have purchased the first time. If you want looks then the Outfitter is your boot. Unfortunately the name has nothing in common to the boots performance."

Great Boots,November 1, 2009
By 30MULEYfrom Texas
"Great boots. I wore these boots for the first time on a four day hunt on Anticosti Island, Canada. Through 4 days of rain, mud and beaver ponds, they performed great. No leaks, no blisters, no cold feet. You can't beat these boots for the price."

Best boots ever worn,September 10, 2009
By shaw426hemifrom Alexandria, MN
"I recieved my first pair of these boots when I was 15 and wore that pair without any problems for 5 yrs without leaks or anything. The goodyear rubber wears slowly and stays soft and pliable in the cold temps. They are ultra waterproof and the leather is unmatched in durability. I bought a new pair two years ago and of course they are running stong and they are so comfortable and durable. My dad is now using my old pair as work boots and they STILL dont LEAK! I have seen friends rockys and irish setters leak and wear out these boots are the best I have seen. Regardless of price they are worth every penny and the 600 grams of thinsulate is more like 1000 grams because i wear light socks with them all the way into nov. without problems with cold. These are the best around."

"I was pleased to find these to be the most comfortable boots I have purchased. A very great product I would give ten stars out of five. Cant wait for the hunting seasons to come, and elk taken thanks to a product that not only out performs its price and outperforms the competition even much higher priced boots. Thanks again for another great product Cabela's."

Cabelas 12" outfitter series 600-gram,January 27, 2009
By JoshuaLfrom Eau Claire, WI
"The boots are great and have great traction. I wish that I hadn't choosen the 12". It's a little too high on my ankle, almost to the point of uncomfortable. I also had too skip an eyelet around my ankle to gain comfort. I like the foot bed of the boot along with the soft leather, both break-in quick."

So far so good,January 26, 2009
By testyonefrom Northern Ohio
"Had these for about a month and have worn them at least a dozen times for hunting or fishing. Snow covered ground each time out with no wet feet. Break-in was MUCH better than I expected. I did order 1/2 size larger and am glad I did. There is a lot of tongue to deal with while lacing, but that's what it takes to keep the water out and still be able to put the boots on easily. Would buy again."

Tough boot to beat!,January 5, 2009
By Alteredwalterfrom DeTour Village, Michigan
"I bought this boot after reading all the reviews. Then when I was in Cablela's midwest store, I tried a very similar boot on and liked it. I'm beteen a size 13 and 14C. The size 13 was too tight so I exchanged it for the 14C and it fits very well. I recommend going at least 1/2 size larger in both length and width for a light to medium sock and a full size in a heavy sock. Otherwise you might not be able to get in on your foot. It is very warm and comfortable to walk in. I will buy another pair when these wear out. I also measured my helpers feet at a size 10D, rounded up from a 9 1/2. He reports his fit with a medium wool sock to being just about perfect as you can get. So going a little bigger in the boot seems to be standard for this item. We think it has to do with the gortex lining taking up some of the footbed area. He wears his boots daily and really likes them too."
