Good boots watch craftsmanship,November 18, 2009
By bassheadjohnfrom Pittsburgh, PA
"These are a great value. I read many reviews on these prior to purchasing and I am in agreement with what most people said. These are a great boot for the money and I am hoping when I have to buy another pair they will still be making them.
Sizing: First let me say that if they made footwear in 1/4 sizes buying boots and shoes would be much easier for me. With that being said I was torn between a 10.5 and an 11. Because of the stiffness of the new leather it was hard to narrow it down. I ended up with the 10.5 which was the right choice. Overall the boot seemed a little wide in the foot but this is easily made up with a thicker sock. If you are between 2 sizes I would go with the smaller one. They will loosen up.
The negatives: These shouldn't deter you from buying these boots, just things to look for. One area that I did not see anyone discuss on the reviews was pour stitching. Don't get me wrong these are very well made but I did run into a slight problem. I purchased the boots and did not check them out thoroughly. I noticed sloppy stitching done which created a gap between the sole and the toe of the boot. They were returned without a hassle. Upon returning them I inspected a couple other pairs and they had the same problem. I am not sure if it was a bad batch or what. It seemed that the left boot had this issue on all the pairs that I looked at. I did finally find a set that were stitched correctly. Secondly. the tongue is a little bulky and does bunch up at first. Once broken in there isn't a problem. Lastly, I found the heel area did tend to clog with small stones and cinders. Depending on the terrain you are on you may have to stomp or clean out the treads from time to time.
The positives: I wore these out hunting rabbit for an afternoon without breaking them in. I was surprised that my normally blister riddled feet came out of the boot blister free. Although a little stiffness at first, they seem to fit well right out of the box for the most part. I covered about 5+miles the first wearing and I have no complaints.
Overall: This is quality boot at a fraction of the cost of similar styled boots. I would buy these again without hesitation. I would look them over completely and thoroughly to ensure proper stitching. With bad stitching issues on my first pair and other pairs I looked at, they lose a star. Cabela's is an hour from me. Back and forth 4 times to get these boots right. If you buy them look them over good if you have a long drive ahead of you."

Excellent value and tough.,November 15, 2009
By Redman1183from Auburn, Ca
"I wear these things turkey, pig and deer hunting and I also hike up to 10 to 15 miles in them. I have never had a blister and these babies are tough. No buckbrush, Blackberry bush or rocky trail can bust em'. Once a year I just clean them up really well and reapply my favorite waterproofing agent. These are my favorite pair of shoes."

Best boot yet,November 10, 2009
By BirdhunterBillfrom Duncannon, Pennsylvania
"I use these boots for serious upland bird hunting. These boots have tough leather that withstands multiflora rose, greenbriar and other briars. The stitching is tough and does not unravel like less hardy boots. They are truly waterproof. Although the aggressive tread looks like a mud catcher, it really is relatively self cleaning as advertised and the tread gives excellent traction. I'm now mid-season in the second year of these boots and they are as good as new. Not as light weight as traditional "bird hunting" boots, but they are a lot tougher and they are comfortable. In my opinion you can't go wrong with any boot in the Outfitter series."

Good Boot,November 9, 2009
By DDavisfrom Longview, WA
"I mainly bought the boot since I like boots with a thin tongue so I can get them tight with a feeling of ankle support. Good boot so far since I have only put maybe 5 miles on them. I will see how they work durring late archery in the snow. I would give them 5 stars but I need to see how they hold up in the long run."

Meeting expectations,October 27, 2009
By KenCatchfrom SouthWestern Connecticut
"I purchased the outfitter boot in a size 15 wide. I always have trouble finding a good fit with my big feet but found near perfection in these. The arch and sole fit well and the upper is tough and durable. These boots protect my feet from the rocky ledges and ridges I hunt. If these wear out I'll be ordering them again. Thanks Cabela's Ken"

Very comfortable,October 21, 2009
By hvalfrom Long Island, NY
"I took these boots from the box and straight into the field small game hunting for 3 days and many miles. They are the most comfortable boots I have worn with no break in necessary. There was no leakage walking through standing water and the soles have an aggressive tread. I would absolutely recommend these boots. I had to go 1/2 size larger than my usual shoe size."

200 gram outfitter,October 8, 2009
By Coldfoot1from Estacada, Oregon
"I have had a chance to wear these boots for a year now. They break in rapidly, the leather has held up well with no obvious break down. The soles, on the other hand, were excellent at first, but have split open in the middle of the tread. I am forced to park these boots until I can get them resoled. They offer good support and appear to be well made with exception of the plastic strip around the edge of the sole is badly cracked and the sole issue. 4e width boots are hard to find, so I have purchased another pair. I just wish the sole compound would hold up better. I would rate these higher if not for the sole cracks. They are unacceptable."

They don't ware out,October 7, 2009
By dcj28from Westfield MA. hunting 30 years.
"I bought mine in 2004, 1000 gram Thinsulate model. They look like I bought them this year and they get used hard every year. I am not shy about stepping in the water with them either. When I get home from a full day on the ice or hunting I don’t want to take them off. The best boot I have ever owned. For the warmer weather I am adding a 200 gram pair to the closet for upland hunting."

Great boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,August 4, 2009
By marlinguidefrom southwest Nebraska
"I curently own 3 pair of thest boots 200 gram, 1000 gram and 2000 gram. The oldest pair is 5 years old and are still not showing hardly any wear. I have not yet suffered cold wet feet while wearing them. I absolutely love these boots and am planning on getting another pair of the 200 gram ones to wear at work. Anyone who wants a quality pair of boots that will last for years and are affordable should seriously consider a pair of these."

Not bad,June 15, 2009
By bigbuddrinkerfrom Honolulu, Hawaii
"These boots were comfortable and warm enough for hunting in 37+F temperatures. They served the purpoose I wanted when I ordered them. But there was one unexpected issue. The rounded knobs on the sole made stepping on rocks in the trails a little difficult. I was slipping a bit and had to slow my pace. Maybe the soles will get better with age. We'll see. Other than this, good, sturdy boots."
