"Used these pants on northern mountain elk hunt. Found them a little on the warm side while climbing with a pack in temps around 40F. Didn't seem to breath as well as I hoped. On the other hand, my wife has the same pants and she said hers were great, so obviously I get hotter than she does. Also,while the exterior material sheds rain and water very well, the inner liner soaked up water off vegetation around my ankles and wicked upward. Need some way of either shortening or keeping the inner liner from hanging down too far. Found them sufficiently quiet and definitely durable busting thru some some very rough bush. Very generous fit, easy to move in, not constricting at all.
Have the matching jacket as well. As I mentioned in that review, the outer material is not flame/heat proof, and melts very quickly when exposed to open flame or sparks. Obviously my fault for reaching across the stove and scorching the sleeve, but something to be aware of, couldn't believe how quick the outer fabric vaporized near the wrist about 2" square.
Overall though a great product, and would definitely recommend."

"These pants used to have rubber ring inside the waist and more belt loops. Now they have two little pieces of elastic on each side, so the pants will not stay on my waist every time I bend over or squat down they fall down. Also there’s not enough belt loops to keep the belt on the waist line of the pants. This was not a problem before, so may they should have left a good thing alone. If you do buy these pants I suggest you buy one or two sizes smaller than you were then the elastic should be all stretched out so they should be more like real pants."

"I used these pants elk hunting in Alberta where temperatures ranged from 40 to 80 and I was comfortable. I was also in light rain and in wet fields and stayed dry. However the material is not very durable and at the end of the week I had a tear at my ankle area. I would suggest using gaiters while wearing these pants in the bush."

"I just returned from a Caribou hunt in nortern Quebec Canada, The pants worked great. I had two other pants with me and I kept going to these pants. We had rain almost every day and the end of the hunt we had cold and snow, The pants worked great with a light pair of nylon long underwear for the warmer days. And for the cold days with snow a heavy pair of flece long johns under these pants were the perfect combination."

"This is the second pair of these pants I have purchased.
The first pair I would have given a 4 star, a little noisier in the brush than I would prefer but acceptable. That pair I have had for 2-3 years.
Going on a 2 week Montana elk hunt I needed a second pair and using the same item ID # I ordered a pair and requiring a hem to be put on. First problem the ling was twisted inside the pant leg and couldn't put my foot through. Had to take them to a sewing place to get re hemmed. Second problem, new style now has expanding elastic side inserts causing the sizing to be quite different (larger) than the originals. Third, the originals had a heavy basting material inside the waist band that gave extra strenght, new ones were only the camo material , so after installing suspender buttons and 1 day of hunting the button pulled through the material. Overall very dissapointed with this purchase."

"I have a pair of insulated as well as these and they are super quite and waterproof .... The only bad thing they changed is that they use to have a rubber-coated band on the inside of the waist .... kept your pants up !!! and now they omitted this and have elastic springy .... I miss the rubber as this really kept your pants from sliding down ......

"Cabela's is by far the best source for hunting apparell, but there is always something one needs to make informed decisions. In my case it is always pants and how they actually fit. I am a 35 inch waste and some 34in. work if you know your product. I recently bought, from the catalog, a pair of the Cabela's Dry-Plus® Silent Suede™ Uninsulated Pants with a 36in. waste and decided that way was the right choice between 34 or 36in. Well they were too large. Had the description been "cut for layering" or "fitted for mobility" or some other indicater that may suggest a "roomy" fit - 34's I would have ordered. Of course the ever perfect customer service allowed my custom inseem - only my guilt for not understanding the overall fit aspect of the product made me hesitent to order at first, the no hassle return policy allowed me to order the inseem cut to size and nearly make my day for new camo rain pants I desired. Thank you Cabela's - even though I returned the product you guys still sold me on the store. Now open the Walker, MI location and finish my future dream season."

"These are the PERFECT hunting pants. They're warm enough by themselves for early fall hunting, or you can layer as many thermals as you need for cold weather. I took mine to Montana and in 5 days of hunting had everything from 10deg to 75deg. They were always comfortable and never had a problem dissipating sweat -- VERY breathable. I tried on dozens of pairs in the local stores, and ordering sight-unseen from Cabela's was an act of desperation and hope. There might be pants that are quieter, or more waterpoof, or more beatheable -- but there are NONE that I have found that make the right level of compromises to create the perfect balance. They are not super-tough so I wouldn't want to take them through the worst kind of brush/thorns. I laid down on them in moderate ground like shale/rock and grass/brush and they were perfect for this type of terrain. These pants exceeded every expectation. I will wear them until they fall apart, and then buy them again...."

"I LOVE these pants. I got my first pair about 5 years ago and am still wearing them. I now have 2 more pair and they are the only pants I bring on my hunting trips and early and late season camping trips regardless how cold the weather. They keep me dry when it is raining or snowing or when sitting on a damp log. And they are windproof. Unlike my husband, I have always had problems staying warm on the stand, but I have had no problems since I started wearing these pants. Just by changing the weight of my long underwear, these pants have kept me warm from 50 degrees to 0 degrees. The fabric also has some built in stretch so they move with you and don't bind. I wear mine from the time I get up in the morning until I crawl into my sleeping bag at night. They are quiet when walking and the pockets hold all your essentials. They have held up very well to repeated wearing and washing. My first pair is still in great condition even after the abuse of yearly 3 week hunting trips in addition to week long spring and fall fishing trips.
These pants are a little warm to wear if you are going to do a lot of walking when the temps are warmer. Say over 50 degrees. They are not insulated, but they do have a warm knit lining. They remind me of a pair of flannel lined jeans only warmer, drier and windproof.
My one complaint is that they don't make these uninsulated pants in a women's version. They only make them in men's."
