"I have worn this coat about 6 or 7 times now, and it is good for a fairly broad range of temps. Below 30, you are going to need some layering, but it does a great job. I also love the water shearing. I have not sat out in pooring rain, but was out in drizzle to sprinkle to light pooring off and on for about 3 hours, and I stayed completely dry. Still kept me warm. It was in the low 40's, windy, and chilly. Only thing I had on was a set of Cabela's Scent-Lok BaseSlayers, the uninsulated pants that match this coat, and a denim long sleeve shirt."

"This is one great jacket! It kept me very warm and dry on some cold and snowy deer hunts. The jacket is very soft and comfortable to wear. Not stiff and bulky like some. I have even found myself wearing it at events such as our local high school football games when it gets cold at night."

"This is a good parka all things considered. PROS: very warm, versatile, you essentially get several pieces of hunting equipment, zippable hood is nice, storm flaps are great, many useful zippable or buttonable pockets. CONS: Dry Plus, as with any clothing piece, only works for a few hours constant rain and then rain slowly seeps in, it is very heavy, it soaks up rain, silent suede is not all it's cracked up to be; it works to an extent but is not nearly as quiet as other fabrics. When I go stand hunting (usually 20-40 degrees) I have a t-shirt, flannel shirt and this parka and I am very warm. I might suggest, however, buying a Goretex parka and layering underneath that to cut down on weight."

"well it was time for a new parka i saw this one and the price was to good to pass up .. well i hunt in N.Y. the very late season ( the month of jan) and it's cold this parka was great very warm and quiet ..it was 29 and windy the frist day i was in the woods i was in stand before frist light and was very warm all day.. if you don't like the cold this is a parka for you i'm getting one for my son .. the best parka i have ever had thanks cabela's"

"I just got this for the 08 hunting season and mother nature thru everything at us this year. Rain, slet, snow, and bitter cold. I sat in the rain for four hours and it never soaked thru, the rain shedding ability of this coat is great. However after a while it did start to soak into outer swade layer, but never got to the inside. I was 14 degrees a coule mornings and the only place I was cold was my face. I love the hood and how it wraps around your head, completely blocks all the wind. However I wish they would have used a magnet or snaps instead of velcro. Very noisy when you want to open it up and it constalty sticks to the shoulder when not using it. Lots of storage pockets and tons of room for all your gear. The swad is a burr magnet too, not a problem for me as I walk mainly along fields to get to my stands. But if your in the woods be carefull where you walk."

"I have been dreaming & saving for a Canadian Whitetail hunt for many years. I was able to take my trip in Nov 2008 to Manitoba. I have been buying items for the past couple years, with the thought that they had to be of the quality I could use them on my Canadian trip, and not overly expensive!
I purchase this parka about 3 years ago & have been very happy with it the whole time. I layered my clothing, walked to the stand wearing as little as possible, & was able to sit out for 4 days, 10 hours per day in temps of -10 to +5 f.
I love how quite the material is. Awesome pockets."

"On my recent, annual deer hunting trip to Perrysburg NY, I tried the Cabela's Dry-Plus Silent Suede parka and bibs in an effort to find a good combination warmth and comfort. The weather went from sunny and in the fifty's to driving rain then snow and in the teens. Being from NC I don't see much cold and snow. Whether I was still hunting from a stand or working a drive, I never got cold! I've tried other products and combinations of clothing but nothing compared to to the warmth and comfort of this product. I'm very pleased and will recommend this product to any hunter."

"THE COAT FITS GOOD BUT THE FIRST TIME I USED IT THE SNAPS BROKE . THEY PULLED THE MATERIAL APART AND NEVER UNSNAPED. I TOOK THE COAT TO MY DRY CLEANER AND HAD IT FIXED BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT TO WAIT THREE WEEKS FOR ANOTHER ONE."
