"I recently had the opportunity to use this bug cap on a bear hunting trip in Maine during August/September 2007. The cap wears like a traditional baseball cap (quite comfortable) and the bug net is easily removed from its secure pouch and lowered into position. The draw string permits you to seal out those pesky mosquitoes. The bug cap worked exactly as it was intended."

"This became an important item while fishing in Alaska. The product withstood two grueling yet wonderful weeks fishing along the rivers. Another great feature is that you always had it with you when ever it was nedded and packed away as if it didn't exist. I had several people ask if I would sell this item. I finally gave it to someone my last day in Alaska but will buy a few more for myself and give away some as gifts.

"I purchased this hat because from about August on we have small black flies that love to get into your mouth, ears, and eyes. There a big pain. This hat works perfect, great visibility and the flies have nowhere to go."

"With bug net in stored, cap pinches forehead. Others tried it and found the same problem. Returned for refund. Cabelas does stand behind products and does a good job on refunds and exchanges."

"A great product here in Central and Eastern North Carolina during the warm, early deer season. Did a great job keeping the mosquitoes away from my head without a significant "sun glasses" affect. Between it and permethrin on my warm season clothing, I no longer need my 6 year-old bug jacket which was a little too warm and had a significant sun glasses affect - especially noticable at the early daylight minutes at sunrise and sunset.
Using Consumer Reports rating system, it is a "Best Buy" for performance and price. The only minus is you have to make sure to make a tight roll when returning the net back into the cap. Therefore, I never do it until I return back to home or camp."

"Ive got to tell you ,the dog knats are so bad this summer they drive me crazy . Deep woods off just makes them mad so they call their skeeter friends. I quit mowing the yard one day and came running into the house ,fired up the computer and ordered one of these caps. This thing really works! The day I got it I went outside with it on and dared them pesky critters to come and get it. I could not believe how many knats were all over the outside of the netting,no wonder they were driving me crazy. My outside activities are no longer hampered from those get in your eyes,ears,nose and mouth bugs.

Kept the Gnats OUT,

"I just returned from a salmon fishing trip in Petersburg, Alaska. Fishing was great, but the gnats were on steroids!
The Bug Cap worked great! If the bites I got on my hands were any indication of what these beasties could have done to my face - ouch! No penetration to my face at all. The arm straps held it nicely in place without compromising mobility in any way.
When not needed, I simply rolled it back into the brow pouch.
Excellent product."

"I thought it was gonna be a stupid purchace.
Not only does it work perfectly but it is also a very nice ball cap to block the sun.
I live in the heart of bug country, Inuvik NT canada. the bugs are bigger here. the beak of the cap keeps the net off your face so you dont even notice it. VEry nice and affordable"

"This headnet has worked out great for me. It has a great design and the elastic bands make a really tight fit that bugs can't get around. I have been very happy with it so far. The net is even very tough as I have gone through numerous thick vegetation areas where branches are always snagging on stuff and I haven't noticed even one little rip yet. the only drawback is that while it seems to have a small mesh, I have still had no-see-ums get through. Very annoying, but I would still buy this headnet again."

"A must for anyone traveling to or living in black fly, deer fly or mosquito country. It makes life bearable. We especially like that you can put your arms through the drawstring for a really tight fit that those annoying little critters can't get through. Just remember that you have it on before you take a drink, eat, or smoke if you are so inclined!!"

"I hunt in swampy areas of south Louisiana. With the bug cap I don't have to worry about bites on my face and neck and the irritating misquitos that fly into your eyes, nose and ears. The dark mesh is easy to see through and breaks up the shine of your face. Works great with a thermocell (which is only effective when the wind isn't blowing, hence the bug cap). The net roles up on the visor, which is great you don't have to search through your stuff to find it and it tends to stay cleaner than other masks I've tried in the past. It is also softer or finer mesh and doesn't rub your skin raw like some other products. Misquitos will still buzz around your ears but they cannot get to you through the netting. Great product."

"I fish in the wetlands area of southern New Jersey. From spring to winter, the wetlands are infested with "no-seeums", greenhead flys and mosquitos. This cap has enabled me to hike through the marshes and fish without the discomfort of the pests."

"I love my bug hat!! I can go out to my flower garden to dig and weed and the bugs don't get in. I do give it a little spray before I get out there and the bugs don't get it. When you live in the country you know what the bugs are like early morning and in the evening when the sun goes down."
