Big Blind, August 26, 2009
By frehilde from Western New York Bowhunter

"I have used this blind for four years now and am pleased with the durability and effectiveness of the blind. However, this is not one you will move a couple of times a day due to its weight and difficulty in packing it up. A "put in place once a season" and take it down at the end of the season blind. Window height is a little low making shots from a seated position difficult. I have no problem shooting my 56 inch recurve from a standing position and I am 6' tall. Good blind for the money with lots of room!"

"RELATIVELY EASY TO SET UP; BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO FOLD UP. I SPENT TWO HOURS, WITH HELP, AND NEVER DID GET FOLDED WHERE IT COULD FIT IN THE BACK PACK."

poorly built, July 13, 2009
By KTKPandP from Lehigh PA

"Great for stand up shoots and with my five year old son.
Problem was I left it out for three months and it faded,
ripped, poles broke, tie down straps gone, leaked, had to put it back up three times in the dark, stakes to short, useless for this year. Maybe I should just build a blind out of wood and just staple whats left of my blind to it.

Ameristep PENTHOUSE Blind, June 2, 2009
By Indianear from Providence Forge, VA

"This blind is huge! With all of these windows, there are quite alot of options for shooting either with a gun or bow. I found it easy to set up and since I already have a "Doghouse" blind found it fast and easy to pack up. Set this blind up before the day you hunt, It's not light, Cabelas states it's 20Lbs, but the package it comes in says 26Lbs. I'm 65 years old so it is a little cumbersome, but with all of the room and windows I'm not complaining. After all, is anything perfect? It's bigger than a "Double Bull", at half the price. Why pay more when this blind will do everything that the more expensive blinds do?"

poor quaulity, February 6, 2009
By jmpa from grand forks, N.D.

"there were two things i was dissatisfied with this blind. one the windows were zipper, i like magnet windows. the carbon was coming off the inside of the blind. if it were not for this i would have kept the blind. it had lots of room and you could stand and shoot or just stretch. the zippers a guy could get use to. if it were not for the carbon coming off i would have given it 4 stars."

Its big and so am I, January 25, 2009
By zzrguy from Long Island NY. in the wood all other times

"It's big I'm 6'4" and I can stand up in it so I like it. You are blacked out in it so It will hide you as long is you don't back light yourself by opening too many windows. I have not used it in the field yet but I set it up in the liven room to see how big it was and it big it appears to be well made the only thing I would have like to see with it is a zip in floor .It is easy to set up and you can do it in the dark taking down was a little tuff but no harder then any other twist and fold blind.

I will be mowing the fields early this year for turkey and where I plan to set up the blind will get cut with a small mower as low as I can to have a nice clear area

OK but confusing..., October 23, 2008
By indianagringo from Indiana

"The package arrived on time but damaged. I took several pics of the damaged box but turns out I didn't need to, everything inside was ok. The product is a bit flimsy, seems they used "just enough" to get the job done. The directions were confusing to me, especially the part about folding the blind back into the small ring that will fit into the pack. I found some better instructions on the internet by typing in the search box "ameristep penthouse tsc blind instructions". They still couldn't tell me exactly how to fold it up, but after much experimenting I think I've got it now. Also, if you plan on using "expandable broadheads" you will not be able to use the "shoot through" mesh windows. I have expandable broadheads and I have to leave the window open, which then ruins the whole "TSC or Total Scent Control" option null and void. Also the "shoot through TSC windows" are hard to see through, blurry, and after looking through them for some time I got a little dizzy. So what I'm doing is opening up two sides, using scent control and dressing in all black. It is big enough for me to move around in and find the best possible shooting position. I wouldn't want a smaller one, not for bow anyway. I just barely have enough room to pull back my bow without my elbow hitting the back of the blind. Also, for me, it would be nicer if the windows were just a little higher. I have to shoot over the actual window. If you look at the pic of the blind you'll see a diamond window above the main long window. That is what I have to use do to my being 6 foot tall. And I'm sitting down! I couldn't shoot through it standing up. So all in all it's not everything it's cracked up to be but will work for now I guess."

All Day Hunting Blind, October 22, 2008
By QuarterRound from North Plateau, WV

"This is my second Penthouse so that indicates my satisfaction with the product.

A large ground blind that packs down to a reasonably small size with a backpack to carry it to your hunting stand.

It is large enough to accommodate two people easily and very comfortable for all day hunts in wind, snow, and rain. I found shooting openings are carefully thought out and functional for a rifle hunter. Height affords the ability to stand and stretch without leaving the blind. Should be reasonable for archers taking standing shots.

Blind does a reasonable job of controlling scent when deer are close and excellent for hiding your movements.

Cons
Leaks along the seams.
Somewhat difficult to re-pack without practice. Suggest buyers re-pack a few times at home before taking to the field.

Hunting Blind, September 30, 2008
By deer4us from Cleveland Ohio

"I currently have three different ground blinds and love to take my children hunting when I can. This blind is hudge. All four of us fit in it with room to spare. It has plenty of windows and has a black interior with sent lock carbon which is critical to stay hidden from game that are up close and personal. It is hard to conceal because of its size so if you can, set it up in advance so the animals become faamiliar with it. My last Ameristep dog house blind lasted five years and it was never taken down. That is impressive for the amount of bad weather we get in ohio. Just make sure you need this much room, if not get the dog house."

Ameristep Penthouse TSC Blind, July 2, 2008
By Nohappyhunterhere

"I purchased this Penthouse Blind as a gift..Since it was so big I didn't open it before giving it to the birthday boy. Wow was I embarrased when it was opened....It appeared to be used and I paid full price for it...... Soiled on the inside, material is cheap and missing the loops to hold the stays.
I would not recommend this item.

Ameristep Penthouse Blind, May 1, 2008
By cmsson from Washburn, WI

"I love the penthouse blind!!! I have used this blind for the past couple of years, for archery and rifle deer hunting. I leave it set up almost year round. I am disable so, I like the roominess that the penthouse blind offers.
The only compaint I have is that when it snows the penthouse blind can and will colapse in on itself and the fiberglass rods break/shatter. I would like to be able to order replacement rods if I could. If you know where I can get them I would appreciate the info.

awsome but leaky, April 7, 2008
By DEADLY from New York

"This Blind is WONDERFUL. You will have plenty of room to shoot your bow and film your hunt, as well as taking a snooze in your recliner. I gave it 4 stars pending a probblem. The probblem that I have is this; 1) Lots of loose or hanging thread, trim and melt the end. 2) LEAKS 3/4 OF ALL SEAMS.
3) A lilttle bit larger then pin holes on the ceiling. I set this blind up shot through the mesh (works great) After a light steady rain overnight I discovered it leaks. I sat in it for 2 hrs. to discover that I had water drippig on me from these holes and the seams leaked as well as where some of the zippers did not seal after being zipped. Almost like a cheap zipper, even when zip the teeth did not close properly.
I just called Cabelas. THEY ARE GREAT TO DEAL WITH. They are sending me a seam sealer for the seams. If that dose not work out I,ll exchange it for another one. I repeat the fabric didn't leak but the holes/ zippers (not all) and the seams leaked. I believe this is due to the mast production and some lack of quality control. I know its costly, but compared to others its well worth it. And in regards to Cabelas THERE IS NO BETTER..... I WISH I HAD MORE MONEY TO BUY MORE THINGS FROM THEM.

Excellent Blind For Recurve, March 4, 2008
By waiting4fall from WV

"I just got this in the mail today, I bought the Tangle camo blind. It's huge!!!!!! I'll have no problem at all shooting my 62inch recurve from a kneeling position, which is exactly I bought this model. I actually like the camo pattern, as well. I'm 6ft tall, I can fully extend my arms, above my head, inside this blind. Great price, great product, highly recommend."

Good Blind, December 26, 2007
By shootnhunt

"This is a pretty good blind for the money. I have used it to bow hunt for several years and have tagged deer and turkey from it. This blind is of pretty good quality, but I have had some problems with the zippers on the doors and windows. It seems that chronic exposure to the elements fades the camo pattern significantly. Overall, this is a good blind if you don't want to spend $400+ on one."

As big as all outdoors!, October 30, 2007
By Huffdog from Pataskala, Ohio

"I love this blind, I'm a pretty big fella and I have plenty of room to stretch out and relax. I am 6'5" and can stand up with room to spare. I have had deer within 6ft. of me and had no idea i was there. The only disappointments I have are, the blind is NOT waterproof. It leaks badly in a light rain and the blind is a bit of a pain to fold up."
