"On Friday, before opening day in Texas, I mixed the powder per instructions and poured it on the open ground next to a pine tree. Nothing happened until Tuesday, when 3 does came into the opening and made a B-line for the Deer Kane. They stood there for 10 minutes, eating the dirt and running their tongues in and out. On Wednesday, 2 does and 3 yearlings came out, and again made a B-line for the Deer Kane. During the 5 day hunt, no bucks came in while I was in the stand."

"I put this out in Indiana to help supplement antler growth and create a habit of them walking by where I was going to be hunting. I mixed half of the bag with 3 gallons of pond water and did 2 applications over a month. The deer went crazy over it and ate a hole about three inches deep and five feet wide. Also, the game trails have become used much more frequently than they have in the past. I just got a trail cam out a week ago, so we will see how often they visit. A great product in my opinion, did exactly what I wanted it to do."

"I've had a salt lick for nine years just behind our house and for the first five years all i used was salt and mineral blocks which the deer liked but i didn't think it was helping the health of the deer herd as much as the supplements specifically made for deer. So i started testing different items, but for the past 6 months I hadn't put anything on it. So one day I went ahead and bought a package of this locally. My deer lick is 10X10 feet and about 2 feet deep. When I applied deer cane there was a foot of water in the lick and I just spread the mineral by hand throughout the water and put some on the edges. Within 2 days they were goin crazy over it!!! Digging in the sides, and they haven't stopped and it's been a good 2 weeks so the mineral must leech into the soil and not just stay on top."

"I was a little skeptical about this product at first because I have never used anything like this before, but I wanted to try to get some trail cam pics of the deer on my property so I put a bag of this out. The deer hit it hard within two days and tore up the ground where I put the stuff down. I saw bucks there that I have never seen before. Great for getting pictures of deer on a trail cam."

"Followed the directions on the bag. Went to check if the mineral lick had been hit after 2 days. Almost got ran over by the cow moose that did not want me near the lick. And the package said it was for deer. Yeah right! The deer are crazy about this product as well!!!"

"This is the best thing I have ever found to keep deer coming back to the same spot. I put some out about 4 years ago and noticed the deer had been around it, but it was towards the end of the season and the spring I planted food plots and put up a feeder so I never really hunted in the back of the woods where I put it. I went back there last night and you wouldnt beleive the hole in the ground. This thing is like 50' diameter and about 4' deep. It was full of tracks and loaded with rubs around it. I hung a trail camera back there to check it out. But this was completely flat ground when I put it out."

"I got alot to say about this stuff starting with ITS JUST AWESOME!!! I have tried it out many times and it works best to just clear out the leaves , take a stick and rub it against the dirt to make the dirt soft , and just pour it out without any water. I came back in two weeks and had a HUGE hole where i had put it. I even saw turkey and raccoon tracks around it. They might as well just call this Animal Cane because deer cane doesnt cover all the animals it attracts. I put this 20 yards from my treestand and the deer think this is some kind of carnival they like it so much. I have seen huge scrapes and rubs by it and tracks and droppings and something else that looks like something(?). This stuff works!!!"

"I've used deer cane every year and always get good results. Within weeks the deer make a big hole in the ground to get to the minerals. I get lots of pictures of deer on my game camera, and while i was in my stand i've seen deer paw at the ground to get the minerals. follow the directions and it works just fine."

"Man this stuff is great I have used it for 6yrs now and the results blow my mind every year. I put it out about 3 or 4 months befor the season starts and when I return I have found holes 3 to 8 inches deep in all areas. I would recommend for everyone to try this stuff it really works I have been hunting the same land in West Virginia for 11yrs and this is the best thing I have used trust me it WORKS!"

"I've read the reviews of some others and see that some people don't know how to use it or quite understand what it claims to do. I've used this product for such a time as it was under a "different name, originally" and found it to perform admirably. The product, # 1, does not all dissolve just because you throw some water on it. To use it to best results, just sprinkle it all about in a large circle (dry) and let nature do the rest over a period on weeks and a couple of months. I've always returned to a large hole that's been dug out with hoove prints everywhere. And for others...HELLO!...it's an attractant....designed to keep deer in your area. It does that admirably. Also from our club's perspective and feedback from other members of other clubs, I've discovered that in any case where it didn't impose immediate results, the deer were "shocked" as the product introduced a new foreign smell that takes getting used to. Let it work! I've been hunting the mountains orf West Virginia for over 40 years and this product is a winner."

"This stuff did not work for me. I allready had a spot cleared out from my original bait pile so I just put it there. The only results that I have seen is that the deer have eaten about one 2 inch hole. The product states that the will scrape and eat the soil in order to get the nutrients they need for healthy growth. When I put it out I mixed it like the bag said to, but when I dumped the bucket not all of it had dissolved. I am very unhappy with this product because I was expecting to see a lot more activity around my site. I have talked to other people that have used this product and they said they got great results, but I did not. If I had to do it all over again I would just choose to get a salt block because that seems to work a lot better than this stuff did."

"I'd been using a more (much more) expensive product with good success, but decided to give DeerCane a try because it's much less expensive... I've put it in three different spots and all three have been hit heavily and are dug up and full of tracks... Usually in June I put the cameras out to get pictures of does and fawns, and from what I've seen so far, DeerCane will work very well for drawing in the deer, and habituating them to coming through the area to use the "lick sites"... I would be comfortable in recommending this to anyone... Dave Q. (Indiana)"

"Read the whats in it.....sodium and salt? arent they the same thing. There isnt enough calcium to make a difference. Cheaper to put out a salt block.....besides salt and sodium are horrible on deer's antlers and does milk production. Why waste money on a catchy name, when you can put something out that actually helps the deer with actual vitamens and minerals!"

"I have used Deer Cane powder for years and it works fantastically well. I have learned one big lesson in its usage over the years that will make a big difference in your level of success using this product.
Find a hard patch of soil that will not drain quickly, this makes a huge difference in your level of success. If your soil is sandy or drains too quickly, the prodcut washes thru and is not nearly as effective.
My first year using the powder made me a believer. By chance I poured it onto a hard clay patch of soil. The clay held it for an extended period and the deer turned the site into a mud hole they ripped it up so much. Opening day produced a bachelor group of 3 deer, 2-eight pointers and a six. (Unfortunaetly here in NJ, we have a doe first law and I had to watch them for a full 10-minutes at 15 yards and couldn't take a shot - it still haunts my dreams).
I have also used the powder in areas that are sandy with well drained soil and it does not work nearly as well, it simply flushed out too quickly. I worked around this issue by dumping several hundred pounds of common rock salt ($1.50 a bag) and then dumping the powder on top of it. The combination of the two makes up for the quick drainage problem."

"I've placed this product at multiple sites. The deer seem to be drawn in to the stuff. My first site developed into a 6 foot hole about 2 feet deep. The deer eat the dirt and all. The other other 6 sites have had the same results. The last two years have shown significant antler growth. Deer keep comming for more."
