Mixed results,November 15, 2009
By JohnnyRainbowfrom Maine, NY---Hunting and Fishing FANATIC!!!
"I planted one plot that never really amounted to anything. Started off nice and the Deer seemed to get right on it. Then it just shut down. I also planted this stuff in place of a corn plot that the crows destroyed behind our house. It grew very fast, but kind of spotty. Where it came in it is very nice, full and tall. Behind this plot I have a plot of Double Cross, where my camera is, and it gets 100% more attention. It's the 15th of November and we've had plenty of hard frosts so far this year. The Deer just don't seem to be that interested in this stuff. As a matter of fact, our neighbors field is full of wild clover and we see Deer there constantly. I still have not seen a Deer in this plot. You can see a very minimal amount of browsing and a few tracks. Not impressed. Our forage oats across the road are getting much more activity. Next year I'm sticking with the oats and lots of Imperial Clover."

Food Plot Review,October 22, 2009
By tenpointrfrom Iowa Buck Hunter
"The wintergreens came up better than I had anticipated. Due to wet weather conditions I could not prepare the soil very well but they came up just the same. I needed weed control for best results. The deer just have not been drawn to them yet but it is still too early to tell if after freeze up they will become more attractive to the deer."

Started great,September 23, 2008
By BigQuackAttackfrom Nebraska
"These are supposed to be great for late season hunting. Since it was 80 degrees today and I was swatting bugs out hunting tonight, it ain't the late season. The plants started off great and they are growing pretty fast. I planted at the end of the summer window, but so far so good."

Whitetail institute winter gren food plot seed,August 11, 2008
By Skip1945from Noth Missouri
"This is the second time i have planted this product and find it outstanding. Deer will walk through my other food plots to get to the Winter Green. They eat the intire plant including the stem. It will still attract long after freeze has killed the others."

Did not attract,April 28, 2008
By canine48from Ohio
"I planted wintergreens last year. It grew great. I had a bumper crop. The deer absolutely igniored it and even walked around it to get to the clover. I have not had luck with brasica. I have used all types of food plots. I will stick to wheat, corn, soybeans and clover. They work the best in this area of Ohio"

Wintergreens is unbelievable,March 23, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Northeast Ohio, Snowbelt of the world!!
"I planted the wintergreens in a 1 acre food plot that I prepped a few days before planting. I did lime the food plot with 500 pounds of pellitized lime during the prep. I planted my plot on Augut 15, 2007 in Northeast Ohio. I planted the seed at double the recomended amount due to others saying not enough was recommended per acre. I swear to god three days later the greens were out of the ground and already 1/2 inch tall. I also have 3 other whitetile institute clover plots that have grown great but not like this stuff, out of the ground that fast. I followed the directions with the planting and fertilizer, then 3 weeks after planting a follow up of 400 pounds of 46-0-0- just made this stuff explode. My deer never really touched it until November when my wintergreens were almost 3 feet tall and as thick as you could ever hope. The leaves were huge and I cannot tell you how many tons of food I had for the 25 deer and 80 turkeys that live on or near our property and must endure huge amounts of Lake Erie effect snow and freezing temps. During the fall of 07 hunting season I took a big 11 pointer out of the clover plot right next to my winter greens and then 10 day later my 10 year son took his first deer, a huge old 8 ponter from the same food plot. I was at our proprty today for the first time since January as I have been working 7 days per week doing tax returns. The wintergreens were gone!!The only thing left was a 1,000, 3 inch sticks which looked like a corn stalk was left. The deer ate every bit of the greens, I could not believe it. I did relime the plot today and will be planting a new bigger patch of wintergreens this fall. While there today I did overseed my whitetail clover plots, something I have done every year since plantng. It's called frost seeding, just throw the seed on the ground that is all cracked from the winter, the stuff just keeps growing and the deer just keep eating it. Want bigger bucks? more bucks? bigger fawns, bigger does?? just plant this stuff. I do not work for the institute but I do use there products and they are just great. Follow the directions it will grow!!!!"

Grows great in SE Nebraska,February 22, 2008
By LeftHandedArcherfrom Reside in Florida, Hunt in SE NEBRASKA
"We planted this product along side BioMax and Power Plant for our food plots. This product grew great. The deer hit the oats first and in late season they commenced to eating this product down to bare dirt. If you follow the directions on the bag, it will grow. We did not have any luck with the bio max from bio logic and would not buy again. The summer plot of power plant grew real well too and will use again this year."

Food plots,February 8, 2008
By BadStumperfrom Gloster ms
"Planted this product in Jefferson county, Ms and had very little success. I did not check the ph like I should have. It came up OK but we received a decent amount of rain that seemed to have "swamped" it. Planted in mid Oct.07.Also planted a mix of wheat, Elbon Rye and Buck forage oats that came up absolutely Great. Yes the deer do love the brassica plants and mixes, but in my opinion it is not worth the money!! I will stick with the cereal grains from now on."

AWESOME!!!,September 29, 2007
By BighunterMOfrom MO
"We planted this product Aug 18th. Had rain 2 days later. Everything went extremely well!! We followed all the directions to the letter. The only thing wrong is that we didn't plant it thick enough. I believe the 1/2 acre bag would be much better on 1/8 acre. We haven't even had a frost yet and the deer are destroying it. Will definitely use again next year."

Disappointing,August 1, 2007
By ranwin33from Kansas
"I was very disappointed with this product. Planted it in NW Missouri, late August. Rain was fine and soil ph was 6.4, fertilized with 20-20-20 as advised. Brassicas did not grow well at all, and none survived an early frost in late October.
I cannot say if deer are attracted to the product as what did grow was ignored, but it grew so poorly as to not really provide anything for the deer to stop and eat.
Although not a strict brassica product, Tecomate's Ultra Forage beat this product hands-down.
I would not buy again."
