not what i expected, November 3, 2009
By aaace

"when i received this release the strap was sewed on backwards. i fixed that problem. tried to use the release when you pull the trigger to put on bow string the ball clamp will not release until you spread them apart with something this happens every time. my 15 year old release works better than the new one."

great item, October 29, 2009
By mobe45 from Central Iowa

"I've used one of these for 20 years. I thought they were off the market as I couldn't find any for sale anywhere a couple years ago. The only drawback to them is the ball bearings wear the serving if you don't use a loop and shoot a lot. It's worth it to reserve the string once in a while. Super release!"

Excellent release, October 21, 2009
By deerhunter1986 from Southern PA

"I ordered this release for my brother several weeks ago. He has used it almost everyday and has nothing but good to say about it. The design was well thought out and is so efficient that I don't think it can ever release prematurely. With the price being half of many other models and made in the USA, how can you go wrong?"

new verse old, October 13, 2009
By Lpond2009 from Chiefland, FL

"the new release is not as smooth on release of string as the old release I have like this one but over all it will work would like to see it made like the old pro hunter release"

O.K. for the price, September 18, 2009
By drpike2 from New Jersey

"Not a bad release for the price. Other releases that cost a little more have better jaws(open more reliably for attachment to string or loop) and don,t make noise. I did adjust it and it still is not as sensitive as I would like. I will keep it as a back-up."

well built, June 24, 2009
By yokota85 from Delaware

"I have both models of this release the round ball bearings and the ones that are flatted. I bought mine in 1985 with the round bearings and am still using it to day, some of the color faded over the last 25 years and it does pinch the string a little ( never had it break a serving ). The new version with the flat balls don't pinch but are a little harger to put in the string and not as smooth of a release. the trigger is now made of plastic not the higher quality of the past version but still works fine. as far as noise from the bearing,, well I don't shake the release when hunting. the strap that holds it to your wrist in nice if you ware gloves. this release has lasted 25 years, 5 bows and thousands of shots. I still plan on using it for many years to come. I would recommand this release to anyone and for the price you can't beat it."

Best release out there, April 22, 2009
By Shayd14 from Halcott Center, NY

"To put it nice and simple, don't bother with the other high priced releases. Go with this product. Had the same release for 6 years and never failed me. Always dead on."

Most reliable release on the market, April 12, 2009
By Massiverack from Grinnell, Iowa

"The Pro Release Trophy Hunter is the best release I have ever used bar none! It is easy to tune, and is as durable as a claw hammer. I have used mine for 18 years and have not had to repair or replace any of it. I shoot at least 500 arrows a year for practice, hunting and at various 3-D shoots and have never had a misfire, or any type of flaw. I laughed when I read that somebody noticed that theirs rattled. My release has never had any noise, esspecially none associated to rattling. The trigger has a really nice feel, like on a gun. It is substantial, not cheap and whimpy. I shoot this thing in every kind of weather and temperature and it is consistent through and through. If you want quality, this is your release."

Pro Release Trophy Hunter Release, December 8, 2008
By hunterman08 from Upstate PA

"I would give this release to a person just starting with archery. You have to pull the trigger back far before the ball bearings let go of the string. You can do alot better."

Trophy Hunter- Best Release Ever, October 27, 2008
By Tankster from Gainesville, Ga.

"I have been using the same Trophy Hunter Release since the late 80's/early 90's, this is without a doubt the best release ever made, it is very smooth, quiet, provides that natural feel of shooting when releasing, I am tall at 6'7" and this release gives me that extra little amount of pull to make up for what most bows don't offer in terms of draw length for me, the release stays secure on your wrist with thin, small gloves for bow season here in the south or even with bulky, heavier gloves for those late season days when you decide to give your bow a last day of hunting, I will be buying one for my son who has decided he is ready to hunt and loves the feel of the release, he is 6'4" at 16 years old with longer arms than I have so he appreciates the extra draw reach afforded him also, Do yourself a favor- buy the release and I'll bet you will be more than satisfied"

the best, August 31, 2008
By vaslayer from Manassas, VA

"I give the trophy hunter release 4 stars and not 5 because of the slight noise the bearings make when attaching to the string. Otherwise, it is the best release on the market for me. I am also a gun hunter and this release feels like the trigger on my favorite guns. Therefore, I shoot alot better. Give it a try if you cannot get your groups tight using other releases."

Rattling, August 5, 2008
By Robgetsem from Elmhurst, Illinois

"After readying the complaints of the ball bearing rattling, I checked mine out, not that I have ever heard them doing so. No noise at all. I've used the release since 1990. Put plenty of venison on the table. Guess I got lucky? My wife is taking up the sport and will get her one for this season. I would recommend."

TOP NOTCH, July 7, 2008
By eyepopper from PERTH, AUSTRALIA

"Simple effective and reliable, some other rests are better but none in this price range, the only thing I can see as a negative with this rest is it can at times be a little fiddly to attach it to a string loop if you are in a hurry, this is not a flaw in this release, it is a trade off for accuracy you make when you decide to use a release & string loop..... I doubt there would be any finger shooters if there was a release that was as quick as the fingers...."

Old but Reliable, July 7, 2008
By rocknmj from Salem, Oregon

"I bought my first Trophy Hunter release when I was about 16 years old and loved it then. Well, 20 years later and after not shooting for quite a few years, I'm getting back into archery and plan on hunting again this year. I'll take my old Trophy Hunter over anything new that I've tried. It's easy to use, durable and releases consitantly every time. As long as I don't shake it over my head run screaming through the woods, its pretty quite too!!"

trusty ol' release, May 2, 2008
By maako from Hartland, MI

"Even after trying newer and more expensive releases, I keep going back to ol' trusty! Mine doesn't have any paint left on it any more just because I keep going back to this release. It has not failed me yet, and have not had any problems with noise even after so many years of service. I will replace this release with another one...if ever needed (heaven forbid)!!!"

Seems like a good choice to me, February 21, 2008
By defndr1

"This release is a quality made product. However, as others have said, the bearings can make some noise if you shake the release. The back of the package says: "If the bearings of the release aid make any noise ... apply a little Black Lightning Wax Lubricant to the area where the bearings are held in the release." Might be nice if they included a small sample of the wax lube to try with the release instead of me purchasing it."

Pro Release is great, November 19, 2007
By evilarkie from NC

"I have had my pro release fo something over 20 years and in my opinion, it is one of the best if not the best. In fact, it is so good my son keeps borrowing it and I have to chase him down to get it back. Guess I might be ahead to just buy another one either for his Christmas present or for MINE. I recommend it without equivocation."
