Crested Wrap Arrows,November 18, 2008

"I bought 1 dozen of the Cabela's Stalker Extreme Arrows Crested Wrap and 1 dozen of the Cabela's Extreme Arrows vanes. The crested wrap arrows had imperfections in the wrap which created a bump in the shaft. This throws the flight of the arrow off ever so slightly. I recommend avoiding the wrapped arrows."

"The Stalker Extreme is a great arrow, particularly when compared to other carbons which cost considerably more.
These are the Stalker Extreme shafts with the addition of 7" white cap wrap which ads about 10 grains of weight to the finished arrow. I usually put wraps on my hunting arrows when I build them, so buying SE arrows all ready set up this way is a nice convienience.
The wrap really helps to see the arrow in flight. I use these particular arrows only for hunting but the wrap would be just as useful for 3D. For everyday practice, the standard SE's are cheaper and the 10 grains weight difference doesn't affect POI.
White is pretty much an ideal wrap color, and the floursecent orange/green vanes not only look good, but add to the visibility of the arrow. Just for variety-sake, I would like to see another couple wrap/vane color combos offered, though.
Cut to 28", these arrows are 405 grains with a 100 grain point. They tune & fly great from my 63#@28.5" 2006 Reflex Buckskin. At 6.4GPP they are virtually perfect for my setup and they chronograph 240FPS..."
