25% sharper?,

"These broadheads were not even close to being sharp. I sharpened on them quite awhile but never got them to the point that I could in good conscience use them on game. I want an edge as sharp as my old Thunderheads or other replacement blade broadheads."

Please read before buying!,

"I was very excited about these broad heads. I purchased the 100 grain carbon steel ones. They were quite sharp out of package and they are easy to sharpen even further. I have never seen such good accuracy. They shot just like my field tips at 80 yards! All of this made me very excited for this season. It is November 17 and I have found 1 of the 4 deer I have shot. This may make you question my shot but I promise you they were all good shots. The three I didn't find were lung shots. There was blood everywhere, but after 150 yards the blood trail slowed and ended. The skin must have closed up. The only deer I found was shot through the heart and it still went 125yards. I love the design of these broad heads and the way they shoot, but if I can't find my deer it doesn't do me any good."

"the montec is the best broadhead ive ever shot. last week i took a huge doe at 20 yards and passed right through her. she didnt run 5 steps and wobbled off and ended up 15 yards away from where i hit her. the only problem i found was they do require some sharpening out of the box but other than that i think g5 has found a customer for life"

Not Sharp,

"I bought six of these about three weeks ago. Wrote a review and the review never made it into the system. Anyway, all of my broadheads were DULL OUT OF THE BOX. Would not cut paper. Had to buy the G5 sharpener. I see others have had better luck on being sharp. Why me???"

"Field point accuracy just like the original G5's but way way sharper out of the package. These babies are shaving sharp out of the package and are easy to resharpen after wackin deer. G5 switching from stainless steel to high carbon steel was a home run in my book."

AMAZING,

"These broadheads i picked up for my first time bow hunting this year. I was very impressed with the accuracy they gave me while practicin and also in the field, i was 35 yards away from my doe when i let fly my arrow and it hit right where my pin was and penetrated all the way through and was stopped on the exit by my fletchings but the doe didn't go anywhere i made a perfect double lung. I will be using these points again for a long time to come."

G5 does it again!,
September 24, 2009
By MOBigGameHunter

"I've used the Montec in the past and have always been a fan. I thought I'd try out the new montec this year to see if they had improved. Wow is the only answer. Out of the box - they were already sharp enough to get pass through on the first deer I killed this year at 30 yards and bury into the ground another 2 inches and I don't shoot a new 300+ fps bow. The deer ran about 40 yards and crumbled. My concern after that was how sharp can I get them after they'd been shot into the dirt. Not an issue. Easy to sharpen and will be available for reuse and reuse again. I like the fact that I now have a broadhead that I can shoot and shoot and shoot at animals that is friendly to a budget due to their reusability. If you're looking for a fixed blade that you will be able to use for many seasons ahead look no further. I left out the fact that every time I've shot a Montec I have had field point accuracy."

G5's,

"I bought these broadheads after they were recommended by a friend and was impressed immediately by how straight they fly. They're tough and you can put an edge on them. Just back from a Colorado elk trip and I put a bull down with a 100 grain Montec from 40 yards with a clean pass through."

What a suprise,

By Whiplash1

"Thought these were just a passing fad, but boy was I wrong! These things fly just like my field tips, right on target with no micro adjusting needed. Very sharp right out of the package and so easy to sharpen! A ten year old can sharpen these in about 5 minutes each. Very tough. Shot them into my ethafoam target and into the straw backstop and they keep coming out with no damage whatsoever. I would recommend these to anyone who is serious about bowhunting."

"So far so good. They fly just like the Rage at 40 yds. Havent killed anything with them yet but they seem like they can do the job. I still prefer the Striker. They are super sharp and fly like fieldtips. Still have to field test them but like I said so far so good"

Good if you know what you are doing,
August 17, 2009
By BlackPrince
from North Georgia mountains
|
"This head is similar to the Rothar Snuffer, but not as wide and does not cut as wide a wound channel. But it kills well enough for whitetail sized game and gives good clean kills with any good hit.
This arrow head is for people who are handy with their hands. You need to sharpen them and not many people have the ability, patience, or skill to do it. If you are not handy with such things, pass these by because they DO NOT come sharp enough to use hunting right out of the package. They should and will shave when properly sharpened, and all hunting heads should shave.
But if I could get the Snuffers, I would get them instead of this head. You have to sharpen the Snuffers too, and it takes about an hour on each one, so if you are in a hurry, get the replaceable blade heads and leave these to those of us who know what we are doing."
