Great broadhead,November 19, 2009
By och1from Spokane,WA
"I have tried several top quality broadheads, but this one seems to meet the most criteria. Target tip accuracy, VERY IMPORTANT. Other broadheads bend or get destroyed if you are lucky enough to find them after a shot, NOT THIS ONE! If you do recover this broadhead it is very simple to sharpen, and yes I get it very very sharp! You will not be disappointed!"

Proven Broadhead,November 18, 2009
By BlackDragonfrom Moville, Iowa
"These broadheads proved best for me with compound bow and aluminum arrows. Now I am physically disabled and using a crossbow. The G5 Montec was the natural choice."

Why isn't there a Zero Star rating!!!!!,November 7, 2009
By APRime94from Pennsylvania
"i'm in agreement with what most of the other bad reviews say. Tuned bow well but still consistently shoot higher than my field points. but my main problem with them is how dull they come, and do not hold an edge after sharpening. Tracked double lung hits alot farther than with other broadheads. Third season this year, should have got rid of them after the first season. I have always shot fixed blade and thought these would be the best i've used yet. I don't believe the inch and a sixteenth cutting diameter G5 says it is. All this being said, if you are looking for a broad head to hunt squirrel or rabbit with these might work. Would be great for those pesky chipmunks!"

Never again.,November 4, 2009
By 1DisappointedGuyfrom Rochester, NY
"They looked good in the catalog....
Dull edges and rust formed after 1 day in a 1/2 hour light rain, even though I dried them off.
Maybe I'm getting old.... but they seem expensive for what they are."

"man these things are highly accurate ,shot mechanicals before i switched to these heads and no sight ajustment at all and they hit were my mechanicals did . for those of you not getting the same results with these your bow must be out of tune !!!!!!!!check your bow out before you write a review .the only thing about these heads is that they feel a little dull out of the pack but it can be scarey sharp in about 3 minutes per head on a diamond stone . i can shoot these heads out to 60 yards and hit my mark on the target thats the size of a 50 cent piece while getting about 20 inchs of penatration and im 27inch draw , 60lb. pull , 228 fps. on a old mathews mq32 bow!!! keep this sport alive and take a kid hunting , also thanks for reading my review."

Great Choice,October 29, 2009
By wrg242sfrom SW MO
"I was recommended these broadheads by a friend who had used them for awhile, and I will definitely recommend them to anyone. I've only bow hunted for two years, but have tried several different types of broadheads. The G5 Montec has performed the best for me. They shoot great patterns, and leave awesome blood trails. The buck I shot this season only made it 55yds before folding up, and I hit him a little far back of the ideal kill zone."

Good and Bad,October 26, 2009
By Carmelofrom New York
"I feel that for fixed blades these broadheads actually fly very straight. Have to aim a little higher, but they are straight on. However, they do get dull fast and they are hard to get sharp again. I spent more time than I should of to sharpen just three of them. I also question their ability to get though tough hide and bones. I hit a doe, in the sholder plate, at 20 hards and it barely penertrated. And I have a very fast box with a heavy draw weight. I give a 2 because it flies straight and doesn't cut as well as it should. I recommend it to those with an extremely accurate shot, but for the price tag I expected better."

Not bad but could be better.,October 22, 2009
By KansasBowMan18from kansas
"I shoot the bear lights out bow with 70lb draw, i hit a big doe in the spine and the broadhead almost cut through it. I hit another one and it went through one rib and completly out the other side. The only problem is the blades get dull very fast. I had a decent pattern at 30 yards but there are better broadheads for the same price."

Not for a fast bow,October 20, 2009
By devonpayne24
"The only reason I gave it two stars was because they came pretty sharp. I shoot a Hoyt Alphamax, and this broadhead would dive a foot straight down at 20 yards, and the next shot a foot to the right..They fly horribly and wish I could find someone to take them from me."

Montec,October 20, 2009
By jeffj262from Hartford, WI
"Switched to these with a new bow set-up. The faster arrows didn't fly consistent with my Muzzy's past twenty or so yards. Tried the Montec practice heads and got the consistent flight I wanted. Then I purchased the hunting heads. These heads were very dull out of the package. Their warning says "danger extremely sharp". They wouldn't even cut through a rubberband. Had to go buy the sharpener and put my own edge on them. Now I have just shy of $100 into 3 broadheads that I can hunt with and three for practice. I sure hope they are durable.
Also I sent G5 an email and never even got a reply."

Montec is impressive,October 13, 2009
By cwmissourifrom Missouri
"I have gone back and forth several times between fixed blade and mechanical broadheads. I finally can say that I set on a broadhead that performs great. These broadheads fly great. I recently shot a 160+ inch 15 point with G5 Montec and I watched him go down. Perfect pass through, great blood trail, and a great trophy to hang on the wall."

Did the job!!,October 12, 2009
By sterling68from Central Minnnesota
"Shot my first deer ever with a 100 grain G5 on a Goldtip arrow. 61 # draw weight. It hit a rib dead center on entering, another rib and the far side shoulderblade on exit. The arrow was dangling and fell out when the deer hit the brush. I found it unharmed the following morning. Broadhead made a good blood trail ! Deer ran less than 100 yards. Good product !!"

True Flying, Clean Pass Through,October 7, 2009
By BDubs4235from Connecticut
"This season was the first time I shot the G5 Montec. Practice shots all flew true, I didn't have to adjust my sights from field point practice much, and my deer harvest was the cleansest and quickest I've ever had. I would recommend the G5 Montec to anyone and everyone, particularly newer hunters like myself."

Well Done!!,October 4, 2009
By jonathan007from nebraska
"First year bowhunter shooting 100 grain g5 montec. I was a little worried about flight using an 85lb bow but these broadheads are superior to everything I have tried. I bagged an amazing 8x7 monster body buck last night and these broadheads performed amazing. Shot was 62 yards and it was dead on! The deer didn't move an inch. Great Job!!"

No Problem with Cutting Diameter/Sharpness,October 1, 2009
By GilaHeavenfrom Albuquerque, NM
"We just finished a hunt in which we killed 3 black bears and 1 bull in NM and had no problems with the cutting diameter of the broadhead or sharpness out of the factory. Clean through and throughs on 2 of the bears and the elk, with all 3 going less than 75 yards (shots at 40-50 yards). Arrow on the other bear didn't exit due to shot placement/angle, but penetrated 15 inches through shoulder blade from 50 yards and clearly did the job. See no reason to switch."

Accuracy Unmatched!,September 30, 2009
By kyklamfrom Nebraska
"I bought these broadheads last year, and have used them through two antelope seasons, a deer season, and turkey season. They fly exactly like my field tips after a little bit of tuning. No problems at all. Shot my antelope at 50 yards this year and the arrow was spot on! The only minor drawback is that these broadheads, like all others, don't get along with rocks very well. When you do hit a rock for whatever reason, as I did when my arrow zipped through a deer last year, it messes up the broadhead pretty good. However, other than that these are a great product!"
