    Completely satisfied..., October 26, 2009
By opulentworx from Panhandle of Florida

"I was looking for an inexpensive recurve that would be significantly better than the 41.6# @ 30in. Draw (repaired) recurve I was hunting with. Something versatile, fast, and good on the pocket book. I ordered this bow Wed. night and was shooting it by Fri. mid-day. I read all the other reviews before I bought and must say I am not dissappointed at all.

I ordered the 50# draw weight. I was hitting kill zones up to 30 yrds out of the box. It is a bit noisey as others had mentioned. So I made a trip to our local archery shop. My bow is now equipped with a fiber optic 5 pin sight, peep sight, string wiskers, and I added the fuzzy side of some velcro strips to the limb tips where the string slaps. The noise problem is solved. The archery shop clocked it at 168 fps! That's plenty of power for a recurve and right up there with most custom bows.

Now I'm hitting 1in. bulls eyes at 20 yards, 4 inch pattern at 30 yards and slayin' kill zones at 40-45. I'm impressed! I believe this bow has enough power to make good penetration at 35-40 should the shot ever be necessary. It's hard to find a clear shooting lane over 25 yds. in the woods I hunt in Florida.

Vaned arrows fly relatively well off the plastic flipper rest that comes with the bow but I will be shooting off the shelf when my feather flecthed arrows arrive. I suspect the bow will get a bit quieter.

Not to mention, it's designed with the bow fishermen in mind. I will be plucking sheepshead (fish) around bridge pilings come Feb. ! I've got a food plot calling my name. If you like the challenge of a recurve, with some options of a compound, and the PRICE. You've found your bow.

    all i expected, September 13, 2009
    By whome from macon, ga

"This bow was all I expected from a name as big as PSE. Iwas pleased to find that the bow is drilled and tapped for sights as well as fishing tackle or whatever one may want. I prefer to shoot off of the provided flipper rest however the bow is also drilled and tapped for any other arrow rest.
the only down sides are that the bow is a little heavy and, a better made stringwould be nice.

Greatest quality per price you will find, July 21, 2009
By TNeer from Oak Ridge, TN

"I ordered the PSE Kingfisher primarily because it was the least expensive recurve I could find, and secondly because it came fairly well reviewed (I spent a good while looking up talk about it on archery forums). I was very happy to order it Tuesday morning and receive it on my porch Friday afternoon.

This bow is wonderful; I was not expecting to get such a quality bow for so low a price. It has a smooth draw and very little stack. The riser is very ergonomic, even without adding padding to the grip (though I wear a glove when firing it, as the bottom of the shelf has a tendency to press into the bone of my thumb). It's certainly not stealthy sound-wise, but it comes drilled for a stabilizer, and I have yet to put string silencers on it. While the camo coating looks fairly hideous in photos, it's actually rather pleasing to the eye up close (though I'm not yet sure how it fares in the woods).

It holds its own on the range, as well. I haven't shot a recurve in a long time, but even with a flipper rest and vaned arrows I've gotten three- to four-inch groups at ten to fifteen yards. One may well do better than me, anyhow; I'm learning to shoot instinctive, so someone with sights will likely have greater success.

Overall, I could not be happier with this bow.

Fantastic Bow Especially for the Price!, June 15, 2009
    By jparks009

"This is my first bow, and I absolutely love it. It looks cool and functions well. I've added a flipper arrow rest and some padding to the grip (the grip is very uncomfortable and is my only real complaint about this product). Shoots straight and looks great. What more could you ask for?"

    Limb Twisted, May 30, 2009
    By deerslayer84 from Oklahoma

"I was about to rate this five stars, BUT I took it out last night for its fourth bowfishing trip and half way through the night the bottom limb twisted horribly. The bow is now useless. I am in the process of returning the bow, and I trust Cabelas excellent customer service to make the situation right. I will spend a little more money and get a higher quality bow."

Great purchase / First bow, May 10, 2009
By MikePE from Long Beach, CA

"This is my first bow purchase and I am not an experienced archer. However, I took this in to a local shop and had them set it up for me and the guys there shot it a few times (as well as myself). They had nothing but good things to say about it and were actually very impressed with the quality of this bow. Good inexpensive first purchase and I will probably be using it for a long time. I would suggest however if you are starting out not getting the 50 lb version. It will help you focus on your form."

Great Start Off Bow, April 10, 2009
    By Anonymous

"this bow is an exellent bow for beginners, or seasoned archers. took me some time to get usd to the wieght of the bow, but it shoots hard, far and true. some things youll need are some string silencers, that is a must, as well, you will need a quality arrow rest, right now i am shooting off of a flipper arrow rest, really need something better. but this is an awesome bow for the price, i reccomend anything from PSE and cabelas shipping was fast (4 Buisness days) great bow, if ur not sure, buy it and youll be happy"

    Quality"No Frills" Bow, December 21, 2008
By iatrophy from Cedar Rapids, Ia

"I respect a company that can provide a low end product without sacrificing quality at the same time. It's a "no frills" bow and that is what I wanted. Arrows fly well at the range and the draw is smooth. Good bow!"

    PSE Kingfisher, November 3, 2008
    By Curveshooter from Kentucky

"I love this bow for the money you can't beat it. I love the weight it really helps to steady me. For my first recurve bow I am very satisfied. There is better bows out there but not one better for the money. It is also perfect for bow fishing as it is named, you don't have to worry about it taking a dunk on you it won't hurt it. Just dry it off and do it again...lol. I highly recommend it for a first bow or a bow for someone on a budget that wants the most bang for his buck. GREAT PRODUCT as always from PSE.
    THANKS

pse kingfisher bow, June 28, 2008
By blackpowderdude from Youngstown, New York

"This is a very good bow for the money. I bought the 50lb model, and some string silencers to go with it. It arrived at my front door 4 days after I ordered it, with the standard shipping. Very happy with that. Also got some carbon arrows, and some crimson talon turbine field points. Being that this is my first recurve bow, it definately took a little getting used to. I normally shot a 65lb compound. It was a little difficult at first getting used to the fact that there is no let off and holding 50 lbs at 30 inches of draw was a little difficult at first. Since then it has been a few days and I have gotten used to it and am now shooting very well with it so far. The bow shoots very smoothly and is almost silent with the string silencers. Now I am printing a 3 inch group at 20 yards. I'm still getting used to it, but practice makes perfect. There is no doubt in my mind that the bow has the capability to be much better. I would absolutely recomend this for a first recurve bow to anybody looking to get into archery."

"i got this bow last week as my first recurve and in no time was shooting 2" groups with it. was a little loud but since installing string silencers the noise is no longer an issue. i got the bow with a 50lb. draw and really like how smooth of a shooter it is. for the money, this bow cannot be beat."

Good Bang for the Buck!!!, October 15, 2007
    By jdrock1 from Danbury, CT

"Hunting pun aside, heh heh, this bow is very nice for the money and, as said here before, can be much more than just a bowfishing bow. I use it for target practice. I swapped from a 50 lb. to a 40 lb. bow because I have to work up to that level of resistance, but the folks at Cabela's were very nice and helpful. I just got into archery and this bow is worth it! For the price you can't go wrong."

    GOOD BOW, July 11, 2007
    By Carpola from Michigan

"I bought this bow for bowfishing only (as advertised). Actually, it is a bow for visiting guests. It works great for any guest since draw-length is not an issue. It is the 50 pound draw.

    1. Fully rigged with retriever reel and whisker-biscuit rest.
    2. Kills carp dead.

And for the record, you don't need an expensive bow to bowfish. Sure there are enthusiasts that want an Onieda.....but in all honesty, you will kill fish just as good and just as dead with this sweet little package.

It is a durable bow, and you can be rough with it......and not worry...

    God good.....you are killing carp...

I use it as much as my cheap PSE deer hunter 'primary' bowfishing bow.

Just as a side note....my friend and noob to bowfishing used this bow on his first outing to nail a 20 pounder.

First recurve bow purchase, April 10, 2007
By MountainScout from Colorado Springs, CO

"I shopped around for my first recure bow purchase online and found that this site was easy to use. They had the bow I wanted in inventory at a good price. The bow arrived quickly after placing my order and was well packaged arriving with no damage. Overall I was pleased with the service provided, delivery time, and ease of ordering and of course I received a great recurve bow. The bow was in prestine condition and I am enjoying using it weekly at the range. I doubt I will use it for hunting though since I'm a beginer at the sport.
The only downside was that the bow could have had included some doumentation regarding the manufacture, additional options and products, add-ons, features of the product, etc.
