"I recently purchased the Bear Grizzly in 55#. This is my first recurve bow and it's gonna be hard for me to use my compound anymore. This bow shoots great. I have a friend with the Martin X150 and the Grizzly launches the arrows a lot straighter and harder than the same draw weight in the X150. I researched a lot of bows before I made my purchase and after shooting a few others I'm completely confident I made the right choice for the price."

"I was undecided for a long time on the different types of recurves, but I finally decided on the Grizzly because it was the most bow for the money without making any compromises on quality. I got the 60# being that it was the most powerful. Although it took some getting used to, the weight is managable and shoots my 2216's a lot faster than my longbow. Compounds may shoot faster but you can't beat the light weight and simplicity of a recurve. The only thing I would change would be the quiver mount bushings, in my opinion it's just a marketing ploy to sell the quiver which I wasn't impressed with. It would have been better if they would have stuck with the stabilizer mounts which were more common on the older bows. Enough griping the grizzly is a fine bow and I am pleased. Shooting traditional really helps refine your archery skills, and Bear makes some of the best traditional bows."

"This bow is exceptional for the price. I have been hunting on and off for years now, and i have owned at least four and shot many other recurve bows. the grizzly is my favorite, which is somewhat sad considering the price of some of the other bows i've got my grubby little mits on. this bow can even handle my draw which comes in at 33 in!!! You can't go wrong with this bow. It's as tough as its name sake."

"This bow is my first recurve and it is very high quality for the price. I have looked at and handled/shot several recurves in past months but kept putting off buying one because of the lofty price on many of the bows.
When I saw this bow at this price and made by a company with the tradition and reputation Bear Archery has I decided to try it out. I am a believer in the "you get what you pay for" philosophy, however, in this case the bow is more than I paid for it. I am confident I am not missing out on quality by purchasing this less expensive bow.
My only quibbles are...
It wasn't stated in the description that the bow came with quiver mount bushings inserted in the riser. I never intended on mounting a quiver on the bow so I would rather they weren't there at all. A minor thing though.
The string appears low quality. I have elected to replace it with a flemish string of higher quality.
I am glad this is my first bow and I am already getting more arrows in the kill zone of my 3-d target than outside the kill zone and I am confident I will harvest my first traditioanl archery whitetail come next season."
