Cabana-heavy duty,October 12, 2009
By thegoldenboyfrom New Hyde Park, NY (Long Island)
"I assembled the cabana with my son in 20 minutes. It was easy and required no tools. The instructions were clear and concise.
We decided to use duct tape anywhere that two poles were connected. This strengthened the structure substantially.
The day after we set it up, there were winds gusting up to 50 miles per hour. The cabana never appeared to be in danger of collapsing nor did the cloth roof threaten to blow away. I was impressed at the toughness of the cabana .
We've had three outdoor parties and the cabana has been a big hit. I have the 13' by 13' cabana and there is ample space underneath it for a large table and chairs.
It also provides shade especially during very sunny days. A great purchase that will bring me and my family many years of outdoor pleasure."

Under-Engineered Cabana,September 21, 2009
By BluebirdWatcherfrom Rochester, NY
"While this is a very nice sized cabana with a nice looking green canopy, the poles are very cheap (not heavy duty) as the name implies. Metal poles pop apart very easily and you need at LEAST four people to set this up and preferably five so one can run from corner to corner duct taping the frame together otherwise it is very difficult to keep it together until you get the stand-like feet on the unit and anchor down the sides of the canopy to the poles. If it just had a hole in the pole and a button on the frame for ease of holding all the framework to the feet - that would have been nice. We were forced to put screws in the frame and poles to keep it all together.
There is definitely room for improvement in the cabana!"

Heavy Duty Backyard Cabana,July 28, 2009
By Aprilwine
"Recieved excellent service when I ordered this gazebo for our lake lot. It was quite easy to set up with 2 people. I just wish tiedowns & fasteners were included. It's very good quality. The day we set it up- that evening hurricane winds came up - I thought it would end up in Saskatchewan but it was still there in the morning good as new! Love the shade it offers and hope to enjoy for many years!"

CABANA LOVER,June 20, 2009
By HAPPYSUMMERfrom MAINE
"I HUNTED ALL OVER FOR FOR A 13X13 SCREENHOUSE TO REPLACE ONE WE HAD AT CAMP AND CABELA'S WAS THE ONLY PLACE I FOUND ONE. IT IS STYLED SIMILAR TO THE ONE WE HAD EXCEPT THE FABRIC IS SO MUCH BETTER. IT WORKED OUT PERFECT FOR US. IT WENT UP EASIER THAN THE ONE WE HAD AND I THINK IT WILL WITHSTAND THE SUMMER WINDS AND RAIN MUCH BETTER. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT I COULD NOT SEE ONE OR EVEN A SMALL SCALE MODEL OF ONE TO KNOW WHAT I WAS GETTING. I TOOK MY CHANCES AND WE ARE ALL PLEASED WITH IT. THANKS CABELA"

Heavy Duty Backyard 13'x13' Cabana,June 15, 2009
By Hobobandmanfrom Clayton, NJ
"After conducting extensive research on cabanas and having previous experience with three "instant up" canopies, my TWO new HD Cabanas from Cabela's were the hit of our recent family outdoor gathering. Having approx. 28 people, we were able to get most of our guests under the two canopies, which were set up next to each other and anchored on a 28'x15' pad. The initial setup was so easy... no tools required... just slide the poles and tubing together. Make sure you have at least two people during assembly to raise the sides and top poles. As an extra strength point, after anchoring the uprights to the pad, I attached corner ropes to the loops of the top cover and secured them to ground stakes (not supplied). This "tightened" the entire structure and allowed some recent heavy rainfall to roll-off and not accumulate along the outer edges, which if not properly tightened, will allow water to fall inside of the shelter between the canopy and the lateral support bars. (This is the only negative point I have so far with the gazebo) The shipping was very fast and both cabanas arrived via UPS within 4-5 days after placing the order. I'm hoping we can get a few seasons out of these... my plan is to take them down after the fall and store everything in my outdoor shed. The anchoring bolts are designed to unscrew with a simple wrench. I have already recommended this cabana to several friends and family."

canopy wears thin and rips,May 31, 2009
By sigasogkkfrom canada
"I have had my 13x13 for about 3 years now, we erect it during summer months. the poles have NEVER stayed together, the screens are flimsy and tear easily, they also turn yellow if you leave them open for too long. I had paid a canopy company to reinforce the PLASTIC D RINGS which broke the first year, as well as reinforce the seams etc. this year i water proofed it because it was leaking heavily last summer, however, now that i have waterproofed it, it tore on the edges that curl over the bars, it also tore in the peak because i had to use tie wraps to hold the poles together. basically, i spent 200 reinforcing, waterproofing for nothing, because now its junk, duct tape does not stick to it to hold it from tearing on the edges. I may consider another, if it goes on sale. On a more positive note, my baseball team loves this product, because it is roomy enough to fit everyone comfortably."

"The cabana in actually 9.6x9.6 and 92 sq. ft., not 10x10 and 100 sq. ft as stated. I'd sure like that extra 8 sq. ft. I'd recommend it to someone who wants a 9.6x9.6 cabana, but not as a 10x10 cabana."

great investment,April 30, 2009
By tw9111from central new york state
"We have had this item for 3 years now and it has survived some severe spring and summer electrical high wind storms in central new york. The strong metal frame is a blessing. I have had at least 6 other canopies set up on our back patio which never lasted a full summer. This item is amazing. The frame will never be destroyed. The canopy is super strong and has taken some severe weather without any tears , etc. This is the one to purchase. Believe me!!!!"

Heavy Duty - not kidding!,April 24, 2009
By lil1from Houston, TX
"Every spring I purchase a screened in canopy & battle to keep it functioning throughout the summer because they tend to be flimsy. I haven't had one last more than one season yet. THIS CANOPY IS HEAVY DUTY! The frame is rigid, to say the least. Shortly after I put it up, we had nasty weather (high wind & 6-10 inches of rain one day) & I was so thrilled that the tent was unscathed! It didn't sway in the wind or hold water on top. Also, it was the easiest one I've assembled, no nuts & bolts, & it took maybe 15-20 minutes. I had no problem raising it up onto it's legs with my daughter's help, but needed a person at each corner to move it because it is so formidable. I wasn't able to purchase the screw-in type stakes I wanted to use from Cabella's, but they're available most places that sell camping gear & I would recommend those based on past experience. The interior is roomy & the height of the peak adds to that volume. I expect it will be simple to take down for winter & I have very high hopes for its longevity. I'm ecstatic about this purchase so far! I think it's an awesome value for the price, & I researched a ton before deciding on this one."

heavy duty cabana is awesome!,April 8, 2009
By topreviewerfrom chicago
"i purchased cabana about a month ago and it's been up for a about 3 weeks. i researched a lot of cabanas and gazebos for the best one cause i will be leaving this thing up all spring summer and fall on my back patio. i have no way to anchor it to the patio blocks so i set the legs in 5 gallon buckets full of concrete. we have had a few good rain and wind storms (40mph)and it has held up fine. it also held up to the 4 inches of snow we got 2 days ago. the top didn't cave in do to heavy snow andrain. i feel very confident that this cabana will last for years with proper care and maintence.
now for the one major flaw. putting this thing together and standing it up has to be a pain. out of box i notice the pipes don't stay to gether so u would need a few peeps to help hold it together. i put top frame together in my garage and drilled and installed bolts at every connection. although it was a little time consuming i feel it was well worth it as it made this thing rock solid and i know it would take a tornado to twist it up and knock it down.
CABELAS did it again with this unit! excellent product best i could find with strongest frame."

Heavy Duty Backyard Cabana,July 29, 2008
By BeausMomfrom East Greenbush NY
"I really like this product and would give it 5 stars except for just a few things that could use a little better design. The metal pipes that support the peak of the roof come in 2 parts, and I had to tie them together with twine to get them up there without coming apart. It would be great if there was a little reinforcement on just the fabric at the peak, and make the peak metal out of one piece, or put a bolt there to hold them together. We have had horrendous rain here where I live, and I wondered if the cabana would hold up. It did. However on three of the roof side edges, water does collect and I have to go out and raise the roof edge from within. However, if left to its own, the collected water does seem to dribble onto the ground after about a gallon's worth of accumulation - so it actually saves the roof fabric from ripping from too much water weight. It took two adults to put it up in a timely manner, and it looks good with the sides zipped or with them open. I really recommend this product."

Easy to Setup,July 28, 2008
By Matthew333from Rancho PV, California
"The Cabana was extremely easy to setup. However, like others commented, the poles don't stay together that well during the setup process so I used tape to hold it together while setting it up and that worked fine. The final step of putting the main legs on the top portion does take 2 people but other than that, it was a breeze. I have had it for only two weeks but so far it seems to work great. I bolted the legs to a concrete slab so it will be interesting to see how well holds up to the strong winds that we get here in the winter. Right now it is summer so the weather has been nice with no winds. The Cabana looks really nice and provides nice shade so I would recommend it. The only thing I would have preferred is a different color. If you like Green instead of tan which is available at other places, you can't go wrong."

50th party!,June 4, 2008
By catskilldanfrom east branch, n.y.
"I ordered 4 of these in case of rain for my 50th Birthday party in April and found they were very easy to set up with four people. Once assembled I put all four cabanas side by side and created a giant 26' x 26' room. With all exterior nets down we were pretty bug free as well. The rain did come and we stayed dry and had a blast. We hung a canvas from one of the walls and showed old movies with a projector after dark. I was glad I bought them and as usual Cabelas got them delivered on time as promised."

Cabana for camping,February 3, 2008
By Don51from Texas
"The cabana is heavy duty(close to 100 pounds). It would be good for a backyard event but we wanted something to pack in the truck and take camping. When assembling, it takes two adults. The tube frame had to be held together with duct tape at the connections so that they wouldn't slide apart while you are standing it up. We returned it and opted for a lighter weight ez setup type canopy."
