"Until I ordered the scat mat I had to keep the bedroom doors closed as one of my dogs would mess up the beds as well as unravel the toilet tissue. This scat mat is truly wonderful. All my doors are open now for the first time in 4 yrs. I've told so many people about this product. Up until now we used a baby gate which drove us crazy. I even take it to the cottage on the weekends. Thanks"

"I bought this item to train my dogs to not go through a doorway and it worked for about a day, until they learned they could jump over it. Add on mats are available, up to 3 that utilize the same electronics, to place on other side of doorway, for much less than buying another entire unit, but not available from Cabela's."

"This product has been the best to help keep three medium size dogs out of restricted areas, when the outside door is opened for a visitor they can only stand and watch, instead of fight to get out the door, or jump on them. this has been a very good investment and we are going to order another mat, our family and friends also thinks it is great! have had and used this mat for nearly two years now, and it's still working!"

"I ordered the scat mat to keep my lab off of the new sofa which is pretty large. I ordered the larger size scat mat , yet it was too small to keep the dog off of the furniture. She was zapped once and after that she knew to stay away from it. However, she would simply jump over it or walk around it. I'm moving on to plan B. Good luck!"

"The Scat mat worked well until our coonhound figured out how he could just hop over it. It would be better if it was about six inches or a foot wider. P.S. It was also very fun watching the kids step on it when they got up in the morning and forgot it was there."

"This is our 2nd Scat mat. The first one broke and Cabela's quickly sent us a new one. It works very well. The dogs don't think about getting on the furniture. Also works great for sectioning off areas of the house you don't want them in."

"I bought 2 of these to protect 2 rooms from the wife's cat who likes to urinate in them. They work well for this function. I had to replace the larger mat when the kids drove over it with big wheels several times. It's a worthwhile investment if you need it to restrict cats (or dogs) from entering certain rooms and the 9-volt battery lasts a long time. I would have given it 5 stars if it had held up to kids' big wheels a little better."

"We adopted an extremely high energy, two year old 60 pound Blue Heeler dog that was scheduled to be euthanized because of behavioral problems. For the past six months we have tried every training technique known; some worked, alot didn't. She ripped through gates, jumped blockades and tore up doors trying to get to people and other animals. She stepped on the Scat Mat ONE TIME and decided that she did NOT like it! Today I went home to find our pet parrot had escaped from his cage and was sitting one doorway away from the dog who would eat him without a second thought. There she stood immediately in front of the Scat Mat barking and growling but didn't even attempt to cross it!! I can say without a doubt that this product is quality, and thank goodness it is!"

"We purchased the Scat Mat for our dog, Oreo. Oreo HAD a bad habit of opening our trash cupboard door and taking out the bag of garbage and disecting it from one end of the house to the other. We had braced the door with a chair he even managed to move the chair first. We had seen this scat mat in the Cabela's catalog and thought that this might work. All it took was a couple of shocks and Oreo no longer is in our garbage. We do not even need to turn the scat mat on as just the smell of it keeps him away from that cupboard. Thanks to the scat mat Oreo will not even grab the food that falls on the scat mat. Thank you."
