"Very cheap material. You could bend the pots and pans with little effort. The handles are made from heavy wire and uncomfortable in the hand.Don't waste your money!"

    Excellent product!, February 17, 2009
    By rightwingmom from TX

"We bought our kit nearly 15 years ago. It has served us very well. We've used this kit for everything; from warming stews, scrambling eggs, to heating water for a primative bath. They are an essential part of our camping gear. Light weight, versitle, and very durable, this is a great product.

One suggestion: purchase a pan gripper to add to your kit. It will help with stablizing the skillets and removing them from the heat.

"these cooking utensils are high quality and they heat evenly. they appear to be able to last for a long while. the only negative is the tight storage bag, too hard to put back in."

    Compact cookware, October 28, 2008
    By elkchsr from Shepherd, MT

"I enjoyed this pack of pots and pans. All stainless and numerous sizes for any cooking need while in the great outdoors. They all fit together snug and are vcery durable. You don't need a large grub box to take to camp with this compact array of cook ware. Great product!"

    Heavy-duty set, August 25, 2008
    By OregonWes from Hillsboro, OR

"Not the best for backpacking, but for general camping it is great. The pots are good, a bit heavy, but sturdy. I used only the smallest of the pots for a backpacking trip and used thick tinfoil as a lid (didn't need the frying pan-lid) and it worked just great. The handles are all attached to the pots and pan-lids, which is a definite plus -- no messing with or losing those handles. My WhisperLite stove fit in the small pot just right, so was great for packing."

    Just ok, May 20, 2008
By Crabby2 from Long Island NY

"I have my cookware for years and I am now looking for a different set. The fry pans are too thin and you can't cook anything in them since the food will burn even at low heat. I am happy with the three pots, which are great for boiling water, cooking soup, vegtables or other food. I agree with the other reviews, the bag is a little too small, but the set packs away nicely. I just wish they made the frypans thicker, then I would be happy with the set."

Quality from Coleman, November 12, 2007
By Karina from Baltimore, Maryland, camps with dachshunds!

"I camp with teenagers and/or Brownie Girl Scouts, so I have LOTS of gear! This cook kit is very versitile, and nests nicely.
Two things - Coleman could have sported me an extra quarter inch of fabric on the black bag and made it a whole lot easier to pack away. And how about a metal measuring cup and measuring spoons that would fit inside? I'd love to find one that utilized the space inside the smallest pot!
C'mon, Cabelas and Coleman, that's my next assignment for you guys!!

A great set to have., October 24, 2007
    By CubMasterJim from Noblesville, IN

"This is a very nice little set to have. It's not the biggest set of pots in the world, but it's a nice size for small amounts. It stows nicely with it's carrying bag. We have used this set on a couple of Cub Scout camping trips and have found it to be a nice size to have in addition to our larger pots. Thumbs up!"

    buyer beware, October 1, 2007
    By katholland from Eustace, TX

"After reading previous reviews I purchased this cookware for a 2 week atv trip to Utah. Luckily for me, the camping part of our trip didn't pan out and I didn't have to cook much with this cookware. There were 6 people in our group and everything that was cooked in the skillets BURNED. Especially the eggs. You needed an extraordinary amount of butter or oil to prevent sticking. They certainly did not live up to the reviews I had read."

Coleman OUtfitter Cook Kit, May 15, 2007
    By Sasqwhat from Charlottesville, VA

"This set offers a good variety of sizes and is a very solid piece of cookware. For backpacking I would not suggest taking the entire kit, it's a little heavy, but with the various sized you can pick and choose a good combination to fit your needs.
My only complaint is that the set does not "clip" together well. The pots nest into each other, but they don't lock together and without the carrying bag everything falls apart. I'm using a big rubber-band to hold everything in place.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Near perfect camp stove, May 14, 2007
    By Jothom from Houston TX

"I have four kids and we love to go camping. This cooker made getting meals ready fast so that we could spend more time doing the things we were there for. The only problem with it came when I packed up to head home, when I unpacked at the house one of the cast legs had snapped off. It's a great cooker but you do have to be mindful of how you handle it when transporting it."

Good Cook Kit for Scout Patrols, November 23, 2006
    By T74Dale

"We use this cook kit for all the patrols in our scout troop. It fits everything you would generally need into a small package. The only complaint is the largest pot is a little small for the group size we have. We ended up buying one larger 6 qt. pot and put the cook kit inside the pot."

Coleman outfitter Cook kit, November 14, 2006
    By Adventurer from Florida

"To give you an idea of the size of this cook set. The bottom of the four 5 1/2 inch plates is a realistic 5 inches in the outer rim of the top of the plate is closer to 5 3/4 of an inch and realistically half inch deep. So if you are a heavy eater on your camp outings. Don't depend on these plates as a meal plate; they are closer to a dessert plate. Though the pans are more realistic for cooking, and even the fry pans are realistic for cooking. The sports are 6 inches in length with a healthy spoon surface depth mildly interrupted by the slots for this the fork.
If you buy this product and have problems stacking the items due to the smallness of the stuff sack; place all pans inside of each other in descending order and place sporks inside the smallest pan spoon end downward. Separately, stack the first two large frying pans. Then the plates, and then the smallest frying pan on top of the plates. Next with the fingers on the bottom of the frying pans and your thumb on the top rim frying pan turnover and set on top of the large pan rim. The trick is put the plates underneath the smallest frying pan, and then place the frying pan handles collapsed against the pans into the opening of the stuff sack first and you should be able to put the kit in the stuff sack easier.

Small price, big quality., November 1, 2006
    By Journalist from Columbia, SC

"While not quite as lightweight as some of the ultra-expensive cook sets, coleman hit a homerun with this set. The pots are durable and sized just right to allow them to pack easily but still cook for a family on the trail. The whole set will stack together and fit inside the largest pot, using the largest frying pan for a lid. Even the included windscreen fits neatly around the set and packs inside the nylon bag. The windscreen works fine with my Peak 1 (Coleman) multifuel backpacking stove, but may not be as effective with other brands of stoves. I have also abandoned the included sporks for lighter weight lexan plastic silverware, mostly due to the personal preference of using a real fork and spoon. The bottom line: Includes more than even the more expesive sets. Quality is just as good or better. Includes enough pieces to allow for leaving pieces you don't need at home, or pack them all to feed the whole family a multi-course meal."
