Worth the extra money,

"I had my doubt that this release would be worth shelling out the extra $. Two hours out on the stream, with the good fortune of much activity, I was again reminded why it pays to invest in equipment that works. If you're not lucky enough to get out on the water as often as you would like, make the most of those times you do get out. Fussing with substandard gear ain't the way to do that. This baby works - end of story."

"It works great. When shipped, the part that is attached to the net is on a small strap. I removed it and attached the magnet to the hoop of the net with a zip tie so it wouldn't flop around. When the net is hanging on my back, the handle is pointed down making the net easy to remove. Reattaching is easy because the magnet on the net doesn't move around and it is easy to find its mate."

"I tried a magnetic net release from another vendor, but found it cumbersome. This product, however, is exactly what I wanted---easy to use and extremely functional. I tend to be a mechanical klutz but even I could easily attach the net release to my fishing jacket."

"After way too long a time of trying different ways to carry a trout net, use it and not lose it, I tried the mag. net release and I am very PLEASED with all aspects of it. I will also be able to use it with a small steelhead net when I have found the right one. Wish I had bought a mag. net release years ago."

strap on top mentioned in a review was a great idea. The
magnetic strength is strong enough to come together. All

"I think that this is a great product and probably should have rated it as excellent. However I did modify it a bit to serve my personal purposes. I sewed the strap so that if fit my net rim holding the magnet in a better position to engage the magnet on my vest. However I don't see how the manufacturer could improve things as I am sure that there are many different sizes of nets."
