"Strong, sturdy, practical, vent goes inside which is neat. But 7 gal is a bit heavy even if you do car camping (will your 10 year old be able to go-fetch-some-water?), and if you are in those "walk-to-non-electric" sites or do disperse camping >1 mile from a car, think about dividing it between 2 persons by 4 rather than 1 carrying 7.
And don't forget the old rule of thumb estimate - 2 gallons of water per person per day."

"So I spent a weekend camped out at a state forest in MA with some friends. Didn't feel like using the folding containers or buying a bunch of the cheap gallon jugs of water to carry around. Saw these Aqua-tainers and stopped buy cabelas to pick on up. For the price you can't beat it. Works well, doesn't leak, and will provide you and another camper with ample water supply for a weekend getaway. Just be careful not to over tighten the spout to the cap as it will twist and break. I'll probably be buying another one just to use around the camp site for washing dishes."

"Wow, I have to respectfully disagree with the previous reviewer as regards to the one that I use. It functions perfectly. I know... I hate it when people have such divergent views. You're thinking, OK, who do I believe? I don't know the answer but I think this product is ingenious, it doesn't leak (mine doesn't) and it does what it's supposed to do. Look, if you're looking for something like this, just buy it. Cabela's is unbelievable about taking care of unsatisfied customers... you can always send it back - at their expense. They are a terrific company and tho I have returned a few items, most have more than met my expectations. You really can't lose anything."

"Sturdy container, but despite what appears to be a substantial gasket, the cap does not seal properly. The spigot, which works OK, screws into the cap. It also leaks (between the valve and the cap), but teflon tape will solve that problem. There is no optional plug so you are forced to use the spigot to seal the container. Note that there is no provision for properly aligning it. Very poor design!"
