Strong Holding Power in Dirt/Sand Ground,
October 22, 2009
By SWFLCamper
from Florida
|
"Strong Holding power in Dirt-Sand ground. They were tough to get out of the ground, but prying up with a small shovel at a 45deg angle solved that. Haven't used them in pure sand, but I think they will hold just fine."

"these are great stakes. They take a pounding and go through hard ground easy without bending. I use a 2lb steel malet to pound them in and it works awesome."

tent stakes,

"these stakes worked out pretty good.i had a 12x12 tent canapy up on a lake and the wind was blowing really hard that day.anyone knows when you sit by a lake its pretty windy.but the stakes held down the canapy with no problem.the only problem was getting them back out of the ground so bring yourself a sledge hammer and you wont have any problems."

Big Tent Stakes,
March 10, 2008
By ScoutmasterBenson
from Bethesda, Maryland
|
"We had a large canopy, 20 x 12 feet and we needed something that we could use to hold it down in strong wind. These 6 12-inch metal stakes worked quite quite well. Getting them up requires a little knocking in all 4 directions, but then them come up just fine."

"these arent' good for hard ground had 2 of them brake while trying to pu them out of the ground after camping i got these when i got my tent they are good for holding tent down but not good for the hard ground in state park's they don't want you digging holes and that's the only way to put them out is to loosen the dirt around them you need a claw hammer and something to put under it to pry the stakes out i'm going to make my own for next yr sry cabela's but they are good but not for hard ground if you have something better then i'd be more then happy to get them off of you.but right now the best that would do the job would be rebarb with hook's welded on to them for hard ground"

Badly bent,

"These stakes worked awesome in sand and softer ground. But they literally turned into corkscrews when they were used in harder rocky ground at a national park campsite. Im looking at the rockbusters for more durability."

Angle-Iron Tent Stakes,

"Good choice for soft soil and sand as their shape provides a good bit of frontal area. Poor choice for hard, rocky ground where you need a stake that can take a severe pounding."

Nice Tent Stakes,
November 20, 2006
By Anonymous
from Wisconsin
|
"I bought the 12" stakes a few weeks ago and have been able to try them out a few times. They seem to be much stronger than the stakes that have come with the tents I have purchased. I have been able to use them even in very rocky terrain easily. These stakes are able to hold my tent down very easily even in the worst of conditions. I would not recommend them if you are planning on using them while backpacking though simply because of their size and relative weight to other stakes."
