This is a failure,September 27, 2009
By DependableRealEstatefrom Minnesota
"I hate writing negative reviews and rarely, but in this case I should have listened to the reviews.
I bought this sight and just like another guy said, after sighting my gun in for perfect patterns out to 50 yards, I get out to my blind on the turkey opener and the rear sight is hanging by a thread!! I had NO way to go find tools so although it was VERY loose, I just kept it close to me. I called in a huge 24# tom with a 11" beard. I had to balance the shotgun just perfectly and 2-3 times had to re-center that rear sight. The good news . . . he's on the wall. But the sight really upset me.
Then, I forgot all about it and got the bird, my blind and decoys all back to my vehicle and realized the rear sight was gone! Luckily I went back and found it in the thick grass right where I had been sitting inside the blind. So obviously the recoil from that 3 1/2" mag knocked it off for good!
Oh, let me continue. I forgave TruGlo and re-installed it and figured I could use it for some sporting clays. Today I took it out and had to remove the rear sight because it was too difficult to see. That was MY choice. However, after getting to the first station, my front sight was gone! So I went back and found it in my gun case, re-installed it, and went to shoot. First station, no problem. Got to the second station . . . GONE AGAIN! This time the sight didn't just slide off, the whole fiber optic bead fell off!
Okay, I'm done now. I found the fiber optic bead and took the rest of it off the gun and I'm heading to Cabelas tomorrow. The good news is that I know Cabelas will take good care of me.
Bottom line: DON'T BUY THIS SIGHT. You will truly be sorry, and it won't be when you're at the range, it will be when you are sitting in your stand or possibly take a shot and realize your hunt is over."

Great Sights,May 21, 2009
By dozer123from Tampa, Florida
"Great sights and eay to install if you read the instructions. I bought them because I missed two turkeys here in Florida and was heading for Missouri for Easterns. Got two birds in Missouri (one 24lbs 10" beard and one 28lbs 11" paint brush beard) and I believe the sights made the differance. The sights made it easy to get on the bird quickly and make head/neck shots. I bought two sets and after missing two birds in Missouri, my buddy put the other set on his shotgun and got his bird ( 28lbs 10 3/4" beard) the last day we were there."

Sites are Great until they break,March 12, 2009
By importrci
"No problem installing the sites except for the fact the recommended width was too small for my rib. Returned and got a larger size. Installed very easy. I was very pleased with the sites until I took my gun to the field. The back sites fell off on the way to my hunting spot. The front site fell off on the way back from my hunting site."

It Takes Finesse,March 2, 2009
By VAhunter1from Virginia
"Was concerned after reading some of the reviews that this sight would be difficult to install on the rib without breaking it. It's a tight fit and I experienced some of the reasons it got low marks. However, if you take your time and don't try to force it too hard - it will install properly without damage.
Tip: Use an eyeglasses screwdriver to work it on.
Reason I chose it: I am a beliver in a low-profile shotgun sight that forces your cheek down on the forearm. For me - it improves accuracy with less margin for error.
Installed on a Winchester Super XP."

"A really perfect turkey sight! You're forced to line up the gun exactly right with this sight. Also, no room for error. With the red dot between the 2 green dots, dead turkey! Ed O. N.Y."

Fragile rear sight,May 26, 2008
By Turkeymeisterfrom Eastern, Wa
"Great sights, functionally. My buddies were imressed, but they are simple minded fools who are impressed with shiney pennies (which is probably why they are my friends). So who cares what they think. Like another reviewer, I had the rear sight optics break when I was installing them. I bought a replacement set and shot two nice toms this spring. Truglo should find a way to protect the optics a bit better. Otherwise, I would have given them 5+ star rating."

TruGlo sight,May 21, 2007
By Rem870from Seattle, WA
"I tried to install this in the field and had a hard time. I got the rear sight on with difficulty (the sight didnt quite wrap around the rib and had to be coaxed with my leatherman). When I tried to get the front sight on in the same manner, it shattered in my hand. Maybe if I had heated the sight up it may have been more pliable and would have mounted easily. Install this at home and dont force it if you can help it."

Truglo Tru-Point Turkey Sight,April 23, 2007
By tnturkeyhunterfrom East Tennessee
"Excellent sights! The low profile design requires you to position your cheek lower on the stock resulting in better sight alignment and improved accuracy. It took about 5 minutes to install the sights on my Mossberg 835. Great for early morning light conditions as well as brighter conditions. I will most likely purchase another set of these sights in the future. Great product!"

"I have a BPS Browining Shotgun. Tru-glo is advertised as being able to fit these shotguns. Not true! I gave the sights to a friend that has a Benelli shotgun"
