High Quality Blue Touch Up's,

"This is a quality product from Brownells. I was really pleased to find it in my local Cabela's so that I didn't have to pay shipping charges from Brownells that were as much as this product costs.
I use Oxpho-Blue with a Q-Tip to reapply blueing to screws that get shortened to proper length for scope mounting. It does a great job at preventing rust from starting on these bare metal surfaces. It's quite durable and I believe that it's better than many of the other cold application liquid blue products. Being a Brownell's product, it can be trusted."

"Good product. Works as advertised. Medium to dark blue after a few coats. It probable would get darker if I apply a few more coats. I got it where I wanted it then stopped. I sure hope it lasts like this."

"I used Brownell's Oxpho-Blue on an old beater .22 to restore some of its former glory. After removing some stubborn rust, the barrel needed some bluing attention. The Oxpho-Blue worked to get the shiny parts looking similar to the old bluing. The bluing isn't completely even of course, but for cold bluing spots the stuff works great. It made the barrel all one color again and provides a little rust protection. I'd advise this product if you want to cover up some shiny spots after removing stubborn rust on an everyday rifle."

"I removed some rust from a few old shotguns and needed something to touch up the blueing that was removed. This product need ed several applications in each area where it eventually provided a blueing. The blueing effect appears to provide adequate coverage but has a blotchy appearance.
Oxpho-Blue did the job I needed done - protecting bare metal and saved me the expense of having the guns re-blued. I'll use it again, unless I'm concerned about the appearance of the metal."

"I had a used pistol with some holster wear. I did not have the time to re-finish the slide, but just wanted to cover up the wear points.
I put about 5 coats on the slide with a cotton ball. Results were very good; I did not see a lot of contrast from the original finish compared to the blued areas.
Very good product for a quick touch-up."

"This stuff really works well for what it is. It works nicely for touch up work. it is not necessary to get all the grease off the area you want to blue in this fashion. You just clean up a little and then wipe on the oxphoblue with a qtip or some fine steel wool. I have never had rust come through oxphoblue. I have blued entire guns with this product and have been generally pleased with the results. The color varies with the number or coats and the type of metal used. If you are bluing a really nice gun, obviously, don't use this. If you are touching up or need an attractive metal covering for a sporter , it works well. soaking steel wool in it and then wiping on the metal works good--for a cold blue, this stuff is the best!"

"I got this blue stuff to re-blue a great Christmas gift. I got a hand carved side by side and didn't what to heat up the barrel and ruin the joints. This stuff cut through the surface rust and made the barrel look like new. No prep to speak of, no mess and no fuss. It took 10 minutes to complete a deep blue finish.
I took the remainder and re-blued a barrel I took down to the bare metal and removed some stamping on. Not done but good result so far. A little splotchy but a few more passes should do the trick."

"I bought this product from Cabelas and used it on my sons Browning BPS shotgun that was left in a soft gun case by mistake and it had rusted the action. I followed the directions on the bottle and after 4 applications I was pleased with the results. I will definately recommend this to my friends in need of spot bluing their gun."

"The gun bluing worked quickly and easily. Resulted in a deep color, shines up well (just apply oil after you are finished), and required minimal prep work. Probably would not be the way to go for an entire firearm, unless you had no other options. Great for small to medium areas."
