burl cork handles,January 15, 2008

"The burl rings make a very strong, durable handle for any type of fishing rod. It looks better with age when oils from your hands stain the grip, gives it character. This a good product."

"I used these to replace a handle on an old pole of mine. I had to drill out the center to accomodate the handle circumference but these burl rings worked very well. I used a power sander to take away the rough areas and form the finished handle. These worked better than a preformed handle and make a comfortable grip."

Give burl a whirl,May 30, 2007
By billfishesfrom Eastern NC
"If, like me, you're fed up with the awful quality of natural cork rings being sold today, give these burl rings a try. I've built several baitcasters and spinning rods with burl rings and I'm very happy with the results, good looking and comfortable handles. I've built one fly rod (8' 4 wt) with burl and don't like the extra weight in the handle. Burl weighs about 60% more than natural cork. The small additional weight might not bother you in a fly rod and it's a non-issue in other rod types. These are a great value."

brown burl cork,April 28, 2007
By yuma223
"Burl cork rings work much better than regular cork. Regular cork chips when the inside diameter is drilled out, burl cork does not. Burl cork doesn't have pitting and surface flaws to fill and they sand to a flawless finish with #220 sandpaper. The pattern in the finished grips are incredible."
