"I forget which of the #17 blanks i bought, but i was most impressed with it. It definitely falls in the category of a typical magnum bass rod taper with a fast action. It may not be the lightest blank on the market but it's still very sensitive and makes a fantastic rod. It's very RX7 feeling, if you're familiar with them."

The best blank for the money, November 2, 2007

"Period. I have built several of these blanks ranging from six to seven feet and have used them for everything from bass to salmon. Very strong & light. Always straight as an arrow and tough as nails when complete. I will continue to use these blanks as long as they keep making them, which I hope is a good long while. This is a winner. I have used loomis, sage, shakari, graphite usa, and more and these actually compare very well if not just as good. I just wish there were more size options."

"Light, sensitive and able to cast long and accurate. Stiff butt with a light sensitive tip give an excellent feel. The 17# rating may be a little ambitious but should handle 12# comfortably. Casting range with 1/2oz is easily 150+feet and deadly accurate. Tapers past the grips are consistent but match the butts to each grip for good fitting. Butts on two of the three blanks were the same but one was a lot different. Good choice for all bass when hits are light, especially stripers which need a rod with backbone to stop that run after a long hookset."

"must assuredly a worthy bargain for the cost on this blank. it's not something on the category of amazingly pricey at all and has help up nicely so far. haven't used it a whole lot yet but the trips it has been on have used it hard a few times and it's held up amazingly well under Spanish Mackerel and a few jacks in the gulf. haven't hooked anything huge like a tarpon but with enough line on it I'm sure it'll hold up well enough to do the job it was intended to do."

"I've purchased and built several of these blanks over the last few years. They're excellent quality and sensitive. They give me a great feel for bottom composition when I'm fishing with jigs. In fact, I can actually tell when the bottom composition changes by the way the jig thumps. If you want a quality rod that's sensitive and tough, buy these blanks with confidence."

"This blank is tied primarily for tossing swimbaits for largemouth bass or casting assorted offerings for stripers in the California Delta & river systems. Again, my favorite tie is the rotator wrap model & I've tied about 40 of these rods in that manner. The performance along with the lightweight feel of this rod makes it one of my most requested, right behind the sturgeon rod. Very little failure with this blank, so keep em coming.
