"The IM7 spinning rod blank is a good looking blank well made blank. it has a nice taper and good strength. It can through heavy lures as delicately as the lighter one. the only complaint is the matte finish scratches easily and shows well."

"There aren't too many blanks out there of this quality at the price. I've tried the "in house" cheapie blanks from several of the rod components stores and they weren't as good in my opinion. The only thing i would recommend is buying a higher line weight and/or rod power than you're looking for, i found the given blank specs on the high side."

"These blanks are excellent value for money and perfect for the tournament Bream fishing we do in Australia. I have built up many rods for myself and others on these with great results. They match perfectly with the high end 1500 and 200 sized reels we use and 2-4lb test GSP lines.
My only gripe is the cost of postage to Australia. If Cabelas could match the shipping rates of some of my other suppliers of rodbuilding equipment they would get most of my business."

"I purchased this blank about a year ago. I purchased the 7' 6" ML Fast action 2 piece blank. I built the rod, and within a month it snapped on a hook set just below where the 2 pieces of the rod join together. I returned it and received a second kit. Exactly the same. Snapped the second one Salmon fishing on a......HOOKSET, It snapped at the exact spot as the first one. Imagine that. The action felt great and the rod was incredibly balanced, but there is an obvious design flaw in this blank where the butt piece tapers to the joint. I returned the second rod and baught a St. Croix with the credit.
Bottom Line: Not worth the money, Spend a little more and get a quality blank"
