"I have gutted and fillet many fish with this. Just a great knife and have been using Rapala wood handle fillet knives since I was a kid. Light, fits in your hand nice and maintains a great sharp edge. I also like the sheath. Great knife that I always keep going back too."

"Super flexible and they hold an edge pretty well. Like most knives it doesn't come with the best possible edge. Someone good at sharpening can do a lot better than the factory edge."

"I picked this knife because of the flexibiliy of the knife, which I was pleased with. I like the flexable blades because of the ease and better utilization of the filet of a fish. Everyone knows fish are not perfectly flat. I did find the blade to be a bit sharper than I like. It's very easy to cut through the back bone or skin of the fish if your not careful. This will be cured through some use. It even cut right throught the tough hide of some jumbo perch. I felt it was all the knife anyone would need."

"I have used the Rapala fillet knives for years. The blade is sharp flexible and rugged. The latest version of these knives comes with a teflon coating and is very sharp, suitable for cutting bread, chicken, steak, and of course you can use it to fillet fish. The thin blade is great for slicing onions since it doesn't cause a lot tears and of course you can fillet fish with it. The blade is strong enough to cut through the rib bones for the quick fillet method and flexible enough to clean the meat off the skin. You can break off the tip by opening paint cans but otherwise the knife will provide years of excellent service."

"had a greta edge right out of the pacjkage is well made and has a quality sheath. the only thing i would change is the way the belt loop on the sheath is made it is not the loop style that these knives used to have but since mine rides in a tackle box or a hunting pack its not a problem for me."

"I expected from Rapala a very good knife and this is exactly that. I use this to prepare fruits and vegetables for home processing and the sharpness makes it a dream to use. The handle fits nicely in my hand and the thin blade makes slicing soft veggies so easy. Even the sheath is of very good quality. Highly recommended."

"I own and have owned several good filletting knives. I have yet to use one that matches this knife for edge retention and flexibility. I would buy another anyday and will be ordering another in the shorter length to use as a boning knife for fall hunts. Awesome!"

"My old Rapala knive is aroung 30 years old and still in good shape and has some blade left. Just wanted to retire it. I ordered the same 7 1/2" blade and a 4" too. I use them for butchering deer and for cooking. They do the job fine. I like the handle on the 7 1/2, fits my hand good, the 4" handle is a little small. I know I will never wear them out."

"Bought this knife for cutting and filleting herring and smelt for bait when Sturgeon/Salmon fishing. Used it once and the brass bolster fell off and landed somewhere in the bottom of my boat. Was going thru my tackle getting ready for the next fishing trip and found that the blade had rust spots on it. That was after one trip in fresh water, can't imagine what it will look like after a couple of trips this summer in salt water. Nice looking knife, easy to sharpen and flexible enough to do the job but don't want equipment around that falls apart!"
