cody woodsman slate call,March 19, 2008
By brfd540from ohio
"the wooodsman call is a very good call for anything from yelps, to clucks to purrs although there does seem to be some "dead spots" on the call due to an uneven surface or a few little nicks out of the slate. but if you work around these one or two blemishes it is a very effective call."

Cody Slate Call,March 25, 2007
By IRNimordfrom LA (Lower Alabama)
"I am a Cody Woodsman glass call fan, having used one to take several Alabama Toms over the past two years. I decided to upgrade my slate call form another brand to the Woodsman Slate by Cody. The slate call has a great raspy sound and will be very effective. However, the slate surface on the call has a couple of groves in it that must be avoided while calling. It is very disappointing to see this lack of quality in a Slate Call in the price range of a Woodsman."

The Charmer,January 12, 2007
By BGLEMINfrom Durango, CO
"The Cody Woodsman turkey call has got to be the finest glass call I have ever used. Sound quality is awesome with a high pitched top and a raspy bottom yelp. This call will take a bit of work to properly condition, but the resulting sounds make this call worth every penny. Merriam's hunters should pay particular attention to this call, it brings them a running."
