This lead-free line requires less sinker weight due to the continuous strand of lead-free wire running throughout the line. Approximate sink rate: 2 yards out equals 1 foot depth. A thermocline or extreme water temperature change affects lead-free sink rate. Color changes every 10 yards. Comes in 100-yard spools. Made in USA. Lbs. Test: 12, 15, 18, 27.

Fantastic Lead-Core Alternative,March 22, 2009
By trollinglover
"I've been using lead-core for many years, including Cabela's and I must admit that this non-lead alternative is pretty darn good! It is basically the same lead-core line, without the lead (it uses another environment-friendly material instead that performs very similar to lead, but without its environment drawbacks). I see no reason to continue to use lead-core from now on and have swapped all my reels to this non-lead line... At Cabela's highly compelling price-point, it is a no brainer to use a non-lead alternative and do our part in protecting the environment as typically one would need to pay a substantial premium for a non-lead alternative. Also, my trout trolling remains strong with Cabela's non-lead line... I keep catching trout like crazy! Kudos to everyone that was involved in developing this product!! This is a keeper!!!"

Not The Same,September 3, 2008
By sageboyfrom Spokane, WA
"I would buy the actual leadcore fishing line rather than the non-lead. The non-lead line sinks at a much slower rate and it's inferior to the original, amazing, Cableas LeadCore Fishing Line (with lead). Overall, not however."
