"I use these primers for a 223 ar-15. I have had no problems with puctured primers from firing pin or gases sneaking past the primer and the primer pocket. I would recommend this primer to anyone who is shooting ar-15's."

"In a time where you take any primer you can get I decided to buy the Remington primers as the CCI had an estimated delivery date of about two weeks after my retirement. Work great though, loads chrono within a few FPS of what the CCIs do, differences are too small to bother with. It doesn't really get cold-cold here so I can't vouch for any differences in velocity other than the hot-hot weather I tested in. Loaded .357 mags that worked flawlessly in my Rugers and my S&W as well as .40s that my Glock ate without a failure."

"i've always used remington pistol primers and remington large rifle primers with good results so it was natural for me to stock up on 6.5 small rifle once i finally got a 223 AR.
i first thought i got a bad batch when min loads ended up puncturing the primers, causing some (smaller) damage to the firing pin and bolt face of this brand new $1k rifle, but reading (using a magnifying glass) the EXTREMELY fine fine-print reveals that this is by design: the 6.5 small rifle is only approved for some obsolete cartridges that essentially produce pistol-level pressures.
for all normal small rifle cartridges you MUST use 7.5 bench rest. you hear that? next time you go bump-firing your mini-14 from the hip, make sure you use remingtons BENCH REST primers. some googleing on this topic shows that i'm in good company here: the 6.5 are to blame for many thousands of dollars worth of bolt damages across the natiuon
i suggest remington rename their products to 6.5 small obsolete rifle and 7.5 small rifle respectively. or better yet drop the 6.5 all together to avoid confusion and further unecessary damage."

"I just got a brick of 6 1/2 small rifle primers for reloading .223 Remington bullets. Was just settling down to reload and noticed the new warning on the label. Not for use with high pressure cartidges like .223. So I went online to the Remington sight to research what cartidge loads are OK for the 6 1/2 Remington small rifle primer. The only cartridge in their data that supports this "Small Rifle Primer" is the 22 Hornet. That is it. There is nothing else on the sight that gives any indication that the Small Rifle primers are unsuitable for all other small rifles. They (Remington) recommend the 7 1/2 small rifle Bench Rest primer for all small rifles except the 22 Hornet. Needless to say I am very disappointed with this product. If you produce a Small Rifle Primer it should be for all small rifles not just one cartidge. Stick with CCI."
