MEC 77 Sizemaster,August 3, 2009
By Chief701from Ada, Oklahoma
"I can't say enough about this reloader. It is an excellent product from a fine company. This is my third MEC, and I expect it to last a lifetime for me. It came set up perfectly from the factory, with the exception of the primer feed, that took a minor adjustment to get the primers to drop properly. Of course, I had to install the primer feed anyway, so it was not an issue. MEC builds an exceptional product, and the ONLY one to buy in my opinion. I would purchase the optional bottle support though, as in my opinion, it is an absolutely necessity. I ordered the bottle support, bottle fill funnel, and extra bushings. The shot bottle is so tall, that without the support, I believe that the bottle neck would break off when laying it down full of shot. I highly recommend this product"

"The 77 sizemaster in 28 gauge is just right for me I can load about 4 boxes in an hour wiht out being rushed. I tried 3 different hulls and they all worked fine. If you are tired of paying about ten bucks for a box of 28 gauge shells try a mec 77 sizemaster. You can shoot your 28 gauge without hurting your pocket book."

Sizemaster for beginners,April 7, 2009
By ShooterDadnotSoccerMomfrom Northern California
"I can not imagine a better reloader to start off with. I've dressed my MEC 77 up a bit with an optional bottle support which I think is a valuable asset. Not that it doesn't work well without one, but I have spilled small quantities of shot and powder. It's unavoidable to all but the luckiest of us. I can only imagine what disappointment might be inherent if the bottle were to break at the neck. Not knocking the bottles. They are tough as nails, but sooner or later, all plastics degrade. I'm just getting a little ahead of the curve. Also I've added the universal charge bar which allows me to tune the charges to near perfection. I did a lot of research before I purchased my MEC 77 and heard some concerns regarding the calibration bands not being engraved as they were in the past on the universal charge bars. Apparently the calibration tape which has replaced the engraving is prone to coming off or unwinding. Naturally once any particulate adheres to the adhesive face of the tape it renders it relatively worthless. So before I even installed it, I cut several bands of clear tape and overwrapped it. I'm sure that it will never unwrap now. At this point I've only reloaded a thousand or so, but as I've stood there using it, I have come to realize that it is about 99 percent foolproof. I can not put my finger on the 1 percent, but never say never. I understand that the progressive relaoders are faster but mistakes can go unnoticed due to the fact that you can not watch seven things at once. I'm also not knocking them. I am very conscientious about safety and chose to have as much control factor built in as is possible. I don't shoot much myself. My 13 year old on the other hand shoots a case plus EVERY WEEKEND. He and I scienced it out completely and thoroughly within 2 hours and the loads have remained within my design parameters without exception. The only thing that I see that could go wrong would be accidentally dropping a second primer into an already primed shell just prior to dropping in your powder charge. To avoid this potential problem, I do not advance a primer to the drop-ready position until I have moved the shell to the third station. I’ve also upgraded the crimp starter. After all is said and done, I feel like I have a reloader that is virtually indestructible and of the highest caliber. No pun intended. If a single stage reloader is what you are after, it is my opinion that you can not go wrong with the MEC 77. Happy reloading."

Really good,February 19, 2009
By Browninggirlfrom St. Louis, MO.
"I was very hesitant when my husband wanted to reload. It seemed complicated to me. It is so easy, it is amazing. This product makes it so easy and works so well I can't believe it. I can do it with no problems. The nice thing for me is I can change the load to my liking. You don't have as many options when you buy shells."

12 Ga. SizeMaster,February 6, 2009
By REDEfrom Kentucky
"Fantastic Press! I have owned/used Lee, Texan and MEC 600 (several), 650 shot shell presses in several gauges - the SizeMaster is my favorite. Smooth operation, simple, easy to switch between 2.75" and 3", accurate, solid collet resizer, auto primer feed... not sure what more you could want in a single stage press. The other reviews pretty much sum it up. I would add that I have found the powder drops to be consistent and accurate. I know because I weigh every 5th load (clays) and every load (Steel, Bismuth). If I notice a problem I weigh every load until it is resolved. If you notice inconsistency, no matter the press, you should shake your powder from time to time, a baffle helps too. Another thing, crimps were good and tight, no adjustment between AA, STS and GM hulls. Very few adjustsments needed when switching between 2.75" and 3" hulls. Great press, great company, would highly recommend."

Mec .410 Sizemaster almost perfect,December 15, 2008
By Kingerfrom East Greenbush, NY
"The MEC .410 Sizemaster does all that it is supposed to do with ease. The reloaded ammunition looks good and functions flawlessly, the only improvement I would suggest is an automatic primer feed."

MEC Sizemaster,October 24, 2008
By RustyinCa
"I started reloading with a used 600jr. I enjoyed it so much, I now have new Sizemasters in 12ga and 20ga. I like the way the Sizemaster resizes the base of the shell and the auto primer feed. Good equipment."
"This product out does the 600 jr. with the better resizing die and ease of use. The only negatives I have are minor. One is cost of unit does not inlude the automatic primer feed,(does not come on the .410) which I think should be a reduction in price. The other is mechanical in nature. The safety bar to control the powder and shot sequence is not lined up properly and drags on the main spring"

MEC Sizemaster,August 26, 2008
By Tommy67from Lawton, OK.
"Overall I am very pleased with the MEC Sizemaster. The price and shipping time were very good. I had to make significant adjustments to the reloader before I could produce a good shell. I understood the unit came from the factory mostly preadjusted. I used a combination of components to make sure that wasn't the problem. Once I got the adjustments set, the unit produced consistently good shells. My previous experience with MEC was a 600 jr. I got from a friend. If and when I am in the market for another reloader, it will be a MEC."

MEC Sizemaster,May 7, 2007
By Salmonslayer2from Sault Ste. Marie, Canada
"Over all, the unit is very easy to operate. The only problem I see with this unit is that you require a new "charge Bar" if you change Shot Loads. Unit would be much better if it had Shot Bushings and you just changed them instead of the bar."

MEC 77 Sizemaster Reloader,November 22, 2006
By UncleDuck
"I purchased the MEC 77 and set it up for 20 gage skeet loads. My wife and I have both used the reloader for several months now and loaded several thousand shells.
The MEC 77 is very easy to use -- even for a small woman. I can load a box of shells in less than 10 minutes. The quality of the reloads is very good -- almost factory-like. I have had no trouble with the reloader and strongly recommend it."
