The Steelmaster is specially designed and completely equipped to reload steel shotshells. The single-stage Steelmaster features a wide-mouth shot bottle and large diameter metal drop tube for clean, clog-free shot flow. Also, a steel Shot Charge Bar with a rubber insert in the shot cavity that "swallows" shot to prevent jamming and eliminate damage to the shot and charge bar. Power Ring collet resizer completely resizes both high and low brass back to factory specs. Adjustable rammer tube applies proper pressure on the wad column. Exclusive three-stage cam-operated crimp provides precise closing pressure and crimping.

"Love this reloader. Went from the 600 Jr to this reloader. The primer feed is a time saver. I like how it resizes the brass. Easy adjustments, just like the 600 Jr. Now all I need is the short kit to reload 2.75 and 3 inch shells. If it doesnt work out. I will have to keep the 600 Jr."

"I bought one, my buddy bought one. For the 3 1/2 inch shell there are not a lot of choices. The metering is fine and within acceptable variance for lead shells but if you use steel powder and are loading hot steel loads, measure components on a digital scale. When you are up at the top and pushing the limits (which most steel loads do), the machine is not uniform enough and you really need to measure.
The resizer and crimper are fine and you can drop it back to do some 3" heavie shot or even 2 3/4 inch with the short kit.
If you only want one press, this will do it all. It is not the fastest machine on the planet but if you could only have on for all your hunting, this would be my pick."

"i feel the mec steelmaster is the vey best loader for the money available today. I recently purchased a 10ga steelmaster because I bought a 12ga steelmaster from cabelas several years ago , and have enjoyed loading many 3" & 3 1/2", duck and goose loads for my grandson and myself. the ease of set up and adjustment for different loads is fast and for the most part very simple. it's a joy to use for all size loads. I usually load around 500 plus rounds per year on average, and (knock on wood), have never had a blooper!"

"In just a short time I have put out over 1,000 rounds of shotgun shells through my MEC Steelmaster and it has performed well above my expectations! After a few adjustments the shells come out better than factory ammuniton and at a much lower cost. The crimp allen screw did strip but I just put a nut on the back of it, which I thought should have been there in the first place. I would definitely recommend this produts to a friend!"
