Easy Lead Melting, October 7, 2009

"The first time I used it I had to tap the glass to make the needle move but since that first heat up cycle smooth sailing ever since. No way to verify if the temp is accurate but the lead seems to melt about when the dial says it should and that is close enough for me. Also fits perfectly in my 10 lb bottom pour pot that is also offered at Cabela's."

"The thermometer arrived quickly and works great. It was priced competitively, as was the shipping charge. I wish the rim of the dial didn't heat up too, though! Ouch!"
