"I have gone through two of these minnow buckets so far. The first one's aerator failed the second day I had it after about 4 hours of use. The second failed after less than 24 hours total run time.
Very expensive bucket that works great but I think for the money you pay it should definitely last longer."

"This was by far the worst fishing item I have purchased lately. I net Shad to fish for stripers at Havasu and thought this would work to keep them alive. Was I wrong. The first day most of them died even after leaving on the air bubbles all day and changing the water often. The second day I kept a bucket next to this one and more stayed alive in my bucket with salt tablets than this bucket. This will not work for Shad. I could not wait to get back home and send this item back. Save your money and put in a live well as I plan on doing!!!"

"I have used this unit about 10 fishing days since purchased. It exceeded my expectations. All I was looking for was a mid-sized bucket that was insulated and without too big of a footprint for my small boat. The self contained pump looked like a nifty gimmick that would probably not work very well. I was wrong. The lid and pump are strong and the stone puts out really small bubbles. Small bubbles are very important to increase oxygen and this thing really does them well. A quart of shrimp or a couple dozen croaker stay alive and frisky all day without changing the water. I now leave shrimp overnight without issue. It is also real nice not having a pump hanging off the side that you have to watch for and protect. I have not yet needed to replace the two D batteries, and did I mention it is really quiet? The only thing it did not have that I wanted was the shrimp mesh liner that comes with Frabill's shrmp bucket. So I called Frabill and ordered one. Now my shrimp can cling on the side walls and stay clear of one another and happy. Just about every bait stand loves it, and I get asked over and over where I got it. Pluses - insulated, 5 gallon footprint, self contained strong pump, quiet, long lasting batteries, AC adapter, great aeration stone. Minuses - None yet, although Frabill should sell one with the shrimp mesh liner."

"We fish a lot for Smallmouth Bass & Walleye in Lk St Clair, Detroit River, Lk Erie areas with minnows as the primary bait. Unfortunately my friends and I all have smaller 'pleasure' boats and thus livewells aren't an option and storage is always at a premium. After messing around for years with portable aerators of every type / brand and differnet bucket designs with little luck keeping bait alive during the hot summer months for more than a hour, I finally purchased one of these. A bit expensive at first, but in the end easily the best fishing investment I ever made. Kept a few dozen large minnows alive and kicking in 80 degree + summer heat for over 8 hours (could have been longer but it was time to go home) on multiple occasions. Whisper quiet, 4 trips now and still using the same 2 D-Cells, and just slightly larger than a 5 gallon bucket."

"Its quiet, its easy on D Cell batteries, it keeps a bunch of minnows alive all weekend as long as I keep the water temperature within reason. I wish the top where the pump is located was insulated as well as the rest of the unit. If the top was insulated I'd have rated it 5 stars. I modified the 12v lead with a 2 pole trailer connector end and made a male "cigarette lighter plug end" so I can use the 12v lead from either the original battery clips or run it off of a cigarette lighter - power adapter end."

"Had to buy this from the States because we don't have much choice in the UK. Bought one for me and one for my friend. I opened the box and was immediately impressed. Filled with live sandeel at 7am, didn't change water all day. They were on and off the boat, in the car home, left out back and when I checked them at 9pm that evening they were all still alive and having a party in the bubbles! I normally struggle to keep them alive for a few hours. Fantastic product. Can't recommend it enough."

"I purchase the Frabill Aqualife System mid-summer. I have never had bait last so long. It is awesome. This fall I had shiners last for several weeks in the Aqualife system. Normally they barely last until I get to the water. I would highly recommend this bait bucket system. The only suggestion I would have to improve the system is to add an a/c cord for indoor operation to keep the bail longer. I have looked for such a thing and evidently it is not available at this time. Otherwise it runs from a boat battery or 2 D cells. The D cells do last a long time though.
