"The Snagmaster does exactly what it says it does, but if yours comes with the line tied on, be sure to check the knot. My first one slipped loose on my first recovery. It may pull a snagged lure out of a deep hole if you are wading, but it's really a tool to use out of a boat. The clip to allow it to attach to the line isn't perfectly engineered, but that's a pretty minor issue. It still works. Simple, yet effective."

"I FISH FROM THE BANK AT A LOCAL LAKE AND USE FAIRLY EXPENSIVE LURES A LOT. I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A GODSEND,BUT ALL IT DID WAS MAKE A AGGREVATING SITTUATION WORSE!! TO PUT IT MILDLY IT DOES NOT WORK FROM THE BANK. IT NEVER MADE IT DOWN THE LINE TO THE LURE . I TRIED IT FOUR TIMES AND FAILED FOUR TIMES."

"The device has worked very well to recover kastmaster lures I fish with quite often around the docks. Two things that needs improvement: the nylon rope is too short, and the clip that opens to allow the fishing line to slip through the ring needs to fasten tighter and stay closed."

"I've only used it once to deal with a snag for shorefishing. It was a lime stone river, and my vib was choked maybe in some rock gap. However, the Snagmaster does not work. I got my lure back though, not sure whether partly due to snagmaster's help."

"The snagmaster works for retreival of everything from plain hooks to crankbaits. I have been able to retrieve things that before would have been lost for sure. It works best where you can get directly above the snagged hooks and bounce the snagmaster up and down until it attaches to the snagged item. Sometimes just the weight of the snagmaster will free the item. I have lifted very heavy waterloged branches up to where I can get the snagged item too. It really does pay for itself."

"due the the ammount of weeds in the lakes i fish i taught i'd buy this tool. even tho it didnt work as per instructions. it didnt slide down the line easily may from a boat i will but either way i just flung it to the area were me lure snaged and after a few goes i felt the pull somthing big it turned out to be a big branch about 5 foot long and 5 inches thick and guess what i found on it not only my lure but about 7 other lures that other fishermen lost. i can recomend this product but i'd change the line it comes on as 20 feet isnt that long as i tend to loose lures about 30 yrds out etc"

"I PURCHASED THE SNAGMASTER ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS ALREADY SAVED ME AT LEAST 50 DOLLARS IN RECOVERED FISHING LURES .THE SNAGMASTER PAID FOR ITSELF ON THE FIRST FISHING TRIP I TOOK IT ON .ITS EASY TO USE AND THE ONLY REAL DRAWBACK IS A FEW STRAIGHTENED OUT HOOKS (REPLACING A HOOK IS A HECK OF A LOT CHEAPER THAN A NEW LURE). I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANY AVID FISHERMAN ."

"I purchased the Smagmaster this past season after losing lure after lure the previous season. The resorvor near my home changes depts throughout the season as the water level drops. This causes extreme coditions to fish in as trees and weeds grow along the shoreline and are then flooded over. I used the Snagmaster several times a day this past season. I would estimate a 90% recovery. It works very well in weeds and trees/branches, but not as well in rock type snags. My only suggestion would be to add more weight to the large oval ring. This would be a plus on windy days when fishing from a boat aiding the Snagmaster to sink faster and in a more direct line with the lure."
