"I love this rod rack. It can quickly move to different positions in the boat without removing the rods. I often leave my rods in the holder on the way to and from the lake. It holds my 8 round baitcasters in the perfect spot to put them out and then move the rack and get ready to fight a fish. It came completely assembled."

"I purchased this online just days before a big fishing trip to Canada. Came on time and completely assembled. Man what a nice space saver and organizer for the boat! Boat space is at a premium and before poles were always in the way, tangled, and easily damaged. Now they're all right there and easy to access when want a quick bait switch. My wife and I had 4 poles rigged for pike and 4 poles for walleye, so never had any down time if line broke or needed a quick change. Nice to be able to put the rack at any open seat location. Also if want to you can just move it anywhere and lay it down with the poles in it out of the way. I'll never go fishing without it again!!"

Good Product / Not easy to assemble,

"Overall the Rod Rack works well, but it is a pain to assemble. Get ready to grab the drill and some new hardware if you want it to go together smoothly.
One design flaw is the lack of a locking tab to prevent the rack from spinning (a must if you want to use the rod holder for fishing). I ended up cutting a groove into the base and making my own locking mechanism."

"In a boat that has limited rod storage, and since i like to take friends along...this rod holder is perfect. The rods are out from underfoot which saves downtime for eye and tip repair. Since i wade fish alot, all the rods are within easy reach once you step out of the boat. The only gripe is the "post" is a little smaller and it has a tendency to spin, second it needs a little southern engineering to make sure you don't bounce a rod out and overboard...a bungee cord works well."

"I like the rod rack for my Ranger 1850 Reata bit it spins in the hole. When I first recieved the rack I had to sand it down to get it to fit, there was too much paint on the base that fit into the seat hole. When I finally got it sanded down enough to fit I find that it spins and sometimes interferes with the engine. I will devise an keeper that will keep it from spinning."

"All the previous compliants about it not coming assembled is no longer an issue. I just purchased one and upon my suprize when I opened the box, it was a complete unit. I dropped it in the boat and am ready to give it a trial run. I already love it and haven't even used it yet."

"I fish the Texas Striper Association Tournaments and we keep many rods on the boat. This rod rack has come in very handy. Keeps them stowed out of the way. Was in some very rough water 2 weeks ago and not a problem. My only concern is the screws. Time will tell if they rust. If so, like other comments, will have to change them out."

"I read all 36 reviews before deciding to buy this rack. I wasn't really worried about the assembly, but understand why some could be challenged.
Good news they now come assembled!!!, at least the one I got did.
I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I did undo the boat cover enough to see if I had ordered the right one for my boat.
The only thing I am concerned about is the rack spinning in the #100 mount, I am going to do what another buyer did and put a small bolt in the holder to keep it from spinning.
I now just have to wait for the ice to melt."

"This is exactly what I was looking for. the only drawback is that it comes unassembled and the screws supplied with it were slotted sheet metal screws making assembly that much more difficult. I think for the money it should have came assembled."

"The quick stow rod rack is not worth the money that Cabela's is charging for it. It is worth about half the price.
Reasons:
It was not put together and came in two separate boxes when it could have been shipped in one.
The directions for putting it together were very much incomplete and difficult to understand.
The rod tubes were a very light weight plastic that I am afraid will not be durable.
For the price, it should be put together and then shipped in one box."

"I like the rod rack very much. It apears to be strong and durable. I would recommend strongly getting rid of the screws that come with the rack and buying some stainless steel phillips head screws. That will probably set you back an extra $6, but it only took me about 20 minutes to put it together afterwards. I tried to use the single slotted screws, and it was an exercise in frustration. Do yourself a favor."
