Modular Led Fishing Light wz-01-2670-003, August 28, 2009
    By FiveStarFisherman from LITTLESTOWN, PA

"When I used the Optronics Fish-n-light for the first time, one of the tubes filled up with water. It took me hours to drain the water out of the tube. When I tried to screw the two tubes together again, the tube with the threads on the inside cracked. I don't think I will ever use it again in fear it might short out my battery.

    Night lights, August 24, 2009
By Explorera from San Francisco, CA

"My family and I have had good experiences with Cabelas for over thirty years. However, these Optronics lights were among the worst products I have ever used. We purchased two, and looked forward eagerly to using them. But they didn't attract fish, and both quickly leaked, and then the lights stopped working. We would have returned them for credit but we had purchased them in advance of a fishing trip, and then didn't get around to returning them"

Lites take on water quickly, July 12, 2009
    By SmoknJoe910 from Lumberton NC

"I bought these lights and the extension wands so I would have two 3 foot underwater lights. After screwing them together and using petroleum jelly (vaseline) to seal the ends we fished them for about six hours at night. One of the LED with the power cord filled with water and it was only two feet under the water's surface. The extensions either took on about a half inch of water or filled halfway. There is no way to get the water back out of these lights. The cheap O-ring seals dont keep water out. And the lights are now completely useless after one trip. They have corroded or burnt out and it was in fresh water. It was a complete waste of money and I do not recommend these even to my worst enemy!!
Use green glowsticks. Easier to deal with and easier to wieght down. Cheaper on the wallet!!

"The light works great! The only problem that i encountered was sinking the light. You have to tie the like to the anchor to beable to sink the light. Check the O-rings also cause i had one leak but it still works after it filled with water..."

"worked well tough finding something heavy enough to weigh it down and not break it. started to get water in very bottom of the light and it started to flutter. next night hung it over the side out of the water to see what we were doing and it still worked great. when it was in the water you could see bait fish around it. pretty cool all in all."

Try, try, again., June 2, 2008
    By steve54 from Merced, CA

"We were very excited to get our new fishing lights, after burning through several previous, older model ones (the floating ones & the submersible ones), but when we opened the package, we were a little disappointed to find no instructions. Ordinarily, this would not have been a problem; however, this wasn't an ordinary fishing light that you just plugged in and dropped in the water. First of all, it had to be assembled, and I guess the gel or oil that they included was supposed to be applied to the "O" ring seals, because one of the two lights that we purchased leaked into the lens compartment and was ruined (it is not supposed to be filled with water). Secondly, you don't just drop it in the water like other fishing lights because it floats (and it's not supposed to fill with water), but you're supposed to weigh it down with something fairly heavy. Since we had purchased 2, 2-unit lights, we needed to weigh each down with at least 1 pound each of weght. If you want to add lights for a 3- or 4-unit light, you'll need more weight. Odd that the company doesn't include some instructions on the package or with the unit to tell you about it. We had to jerry-rig some heavy steel parts from a neighbor in order to use them. Fishing was bad that weekend, all around, so we can't blame the lights, but we'll try again when we get the replacement light that got ruined and report back."

    Bright!, May 11, 2008
    By CJBS2003 from Stafford, VA

"Used the product on Raystown Lake in PA and it is quite bright! It attracts the alewife and shad in nicely. I also used in on the Chesapeake and again it sucked the baitfish in, particularly menhaden and bay anchovies. It makes collecting baitfish much easier. Have not fished over it yet, but I am sure it would be great fish night fishing as well..."

    By snevets

"Was excited to try, usually use lite that hooks to car batterie, thought it would be more convient with batterie operated one, was 400 miles from home when I tried, worked for a short while, then filled up with water, dried it out, and got some bathtub caulk, sealed up the joints, tried again, did'nt take on as much water this time, just a small amount.
Should have sent it back!! but have caulking spread all over it, and the trouble of returning, kept it. Will try again when time permits. Also did'nt seem to give off as much lite, compared to other lites I've used. NOT to impressed with this lite, would'nt recommend it to anyone, sorry.

This light is junk!, February 20, 2008
By bkhunter from South West Michigan

"1. This light housing is huge and requires a massive weight to become submersible.

    2. The o-ring seal will not stay in place when you replace the end cap (after batteries have been installed). This will lead to leaks and other problems in the future.

    3. The light is not very bright.

In my opinion, it is better to spend a little more $ and buy another style light.

Lower section did not work at all and upper section weas very dim.
    No instructions with the unit.
No indication that weights were needed for this product to work.
I was very unstaisfied with this product.
