"I love jetty fishing and tn 12 is excellent in size,power and reliability. Its size is perfect because its light enough for me to hold while on the jetty waiting for that bite. The power is excellent as well as its line retrieving ratio of 6.2:1. Being on the jetty, I need to reel in my catch as fast as I can to avoid being caught up in the kelp beds and rocks that are covered w/ mussels and its power is an excellent asset in this reel. So, the smoothness,power and the retrieving ratio are excellent combination in the type of fishing that I do. I own several shimanos and their reliability are excellent. This is my second trinidad that I bought and I never had a problem with them. However, I recommend this fishing reel to any type of fishing style not only on jetty or surf fishing."

"The Trinidad series of saltwater reels are simply the most reliable reels I have ever used in the salt. TN-14 has been a perfect size for Tarpon on the east coast of Costa Rica. I have landed 29 tarpon of up to 160 pounds using this reel. I plan to get a TN-30 for the Pacific side of Costa Rica as there are more reefs and I use 30 Pound line there. The TN-14 holds an adequate amount of 20 pound line for tarpon-flawless drag and a very powerful gear and handle make this reel ideal."
