"I'm very pleased with this product. It only took about ten minutes to install. The ratcheting mechanism works flawlessly and is very strong. It engages quickly and disengages easily using the release bar. It tightens the bow to the bow stop securely. In short... it works as advertised."

BoatBuckle Bow Tie-Down,

By dlazyh

"I have a 19 ft jon boat with a 80hp engine which makes it rearend heavy. Add that along with 3-12 volt batteries and 24 gallons of gas back there, the front end can bounce a lot. But when I added the Tie-Down, there is no bounce and no shake. I think it's the best unit ever."

Bow Boat Buckle,
August 6, 2008
By Nuthinbutnet
from Cleveland, Oh
|
"I purchased the Boat Buckle Bow Strap after having my last boat leave the trailer in an auto accident. The winch post broke free and my boat was totalled. On my new boat I mounted the boat buckle so that it secures the bow directly to the trailer. They are easy on / easy off and hold securely. I am considering replacing my transom tie downs with boat buckles also. Great product."

Makes boat trailering easy,
July 14, 2008
By Bassangler
from Massachusetts, tournament bass fisherman
|
"Great device, it beats using a chain or anything else. Unless you have to drill a hole through your trailer frame to mount it, the bolt that comes with it is way too long. You will have to go out and buy a shorter bolt and nut system. It should come with two sizes of bolt. Also get the transom pair in stainless, you will be very satisfied."

Holdin it down,
June 9, 2008
By Daisy149689

"Good product and easy to use to stop any bow bounce if your boat isn't overly tongue heavy. Could have been easier to install but this was mainly due to my trailer's configuration. I like the easy release and rachet features."

"Received at the same time as my transom tiedowns. Not all that impressed with this one. Looked the same but not as smooth as the transom set. Bolt supplied with unit was way to long to be of any use. plan on picking up one from hardware store."

Bow tie down,
May 7, 2007
By SalmonDog
from CDA, Idaho
|
"The bow buckle tie down is a good product, but the manufacturer's installation instructions are ridiculous to comply with. They caution you not to install it so that it puts a twist in the strap. Their own photo examples are contrary to their instructions. So I just installed it like they showed in their photo, on the side of my winch base. It works just fine. Once you disregard reading their installation instructions and install it like the photo indicates it's a piece of cake, but I recommend a cobalt drill bit to cut thru the steel on the trailer tongue."
