wood bows for boat cover (SX-01-0464),April 9, 2008
By wontagainfrom Florida
"the weather caused the bows to go out of shape and are to small for the sockets. the wood absorbed moisture and cracked. the fiberglass might be a better item, but more costly."

Wood Bows,February 1, 2008
By RetiredChieffrom Northern California hunter and fisherman
"These work fine for storing the boat at home but I would not recommend for use with a travel cover. Bow adjusters clamps have too much of an edge and will wear/tear through your cover if prolonged wind/vibration occurs with the boat cover installed. Also the bows may not bend equally/evenly causing an off-center bow with the cover installed. That can be solved after time by inverting the weak bow and bending the opposite direction."

Wood bows,January 7, 2008
By kindog
"The bows are not wide enough to fit snugly into the wood bow sockets and will not stand up when mounted into the boat, once I laid the cover over the bows they fall down therefore are useless and was a very big waste of money."

These wood bows are complete garbage!!!,October 16, 2007
By mcroz44from calif.
"I bought 3 of these bows in June and they were fine until it rained. In one night of rain they warped and bowed downward and one broke and they were under a waterproof cover. My cover was filled with water but had none in the boat itself. I live in California and it was not cold. I just got off the phone with Cabelas and they are refunding me and I am going with the fiberglass ones instead. Please pay the extra few dollars and get the fiberglass one piece ones instead. Also, I had to put carpeting over the metal spring tension holders to keep them from ripping my cover. The first complete piece of garbage from Cabelas"

Wood Bows,September 10, 2007
By Capitanofrom Vermont
"The Adjustable wood bows are fine, and do the job well, however I Think a better sliding, or adjusting device say out of a flat plastic that wouldn't create a worn spot in the cover would be better. Also, seemed like a high price for a small piece of wood and an adjuster. My four star rating is just for the bows, not the price or the adjuster"

"Wood Bows fit to loose in the sockets. It is impossible to get them to stay while putting a cover on. They just fall forward or backward. I ended up using fiberglass tent poles. They work great!"

Adjustable Wooden Bows,July 2, 2007
By bobrufrom Corinth, ME
"FIRST ATTEMPT-did not cut off some of original length. Top Bow stuck out and was unworkable. 51" across boat, set for 55". SECOND ATTEMPT-tried to set 55"/bolt bows together. end broke off. THIRD ATTEMPT-cut about 6-8" off each bow. placed "holders" near end of top bow, seems to work better."

"The bows do not stay up while towing. The tip over and fold down. I tried adding rope to hold them in place and it appeared to work on the rear bows. I have three. The front bow needs to be supported by additional means."
