"Had this reel for over a year now and have it on a heavy 8ft swimbait rod. Works great for stripers, but use it more for calicos and whatever else may come along on the kelp paddys. Does great even with small to med. yellowtails and dorado. Lots of fun to fish and casts a mile. I have trouble putting it down and switching to heavier tackle when I should."

"I have always prefered Penn Reels; and am not disapointed in this one "the 975-ld" it is smooth, cast very easy, and the free spool adjustments that the lever allows is a very big plus fishing in tidel water ways with strong currants! and fighting the fish, I had for the very first time a striper take the bait and run from the boat but then run right at the boat "scary" but I was able to keep up and land the fish!"

"this is not my first international product. I purchased a 965 about 8 years ago. since then I have bought a 975CSLD and this 955. If properly used they cast far better than ANY spinning reel, and dont let anyone tell you different; more distance and more accurately. they are also bulletproof, all stainless gears and bearings all aluminum single piece housing and spool not graphite or steel..... theyre worth the money because you wont have to buy two or three of the"other" reels."
