"Very well buildt, strong and easy to install. I would wait to cut out openings for a more precise fit. I installed three of these hatches on a raised deck on my boat and was impressed that they were better then the orginial equipment."

"i have bought two of these hatches over the last couple of years and they have both been vary reliable, no rust build up or broken parts. they look the day i bought them. the one has been out side for three years in rain and snow, and has never leeked one drop of water."

"i bought 3 of these hatches this winter for my boat. the hatches work great, kinda tough to carpet unless you use lots of adhesive. im very happy with these except the rivets for the hinges were loose when i got them, no biggie i just hammered them down more. good quality"

Loose pop rivets,

"The hatches are of good quality and fit my application; HOWEVER.......every single pop rivet had to be replaced, as they were all loose. The drain hardware leaves something to be desired as well........no directions or explanation was provided. Fortunately I'm a seasoned boat builder and will figure out a better way to get this job accomplished. The fit and finish on the actual hatch is quite nice and should work well."

"The hatch is overall pretty good. The rivets are a little loose and that is for carpet. Although I had 3 of them pop out before I had it installed. They are strong and look good when carpeted. They fit snug and don't install handle until the carpet gets smashed down enough."

"The reviewers that mention the loose rivets are mistaken. Yes the rivets are loose but that is intentional for carpeting purposes, I forget the exact wording in the product description but it states something to that effect. Hatches are very strongly built and better than the factory ones on my 04 tracker. I bought both the large and medium size."

"I wish the product came with instructions and hardware for the latch, but that was easy enough. When you carpet these just make sure you run the carpet all the way around the edge to the inside. Otherwise the hatch works great"

"I was disappointed in the workmanship of the hatch. The rivets holding the lid to the hinge and the hinge to the frame assembly were ALL loose (how do you get loose rivets anyway?). I was also disappointed that there was no hardware at all, not even for the included door pull. I think that's a little cheap for the price paid for these things. They do, however, seem to be very sturdy, although the welds on the frame look a little sloppy (they won't be seen anyway). I will probably drill the rivits out and put my own in."

"Nicely made & sturdy. However, the actual hatch is about 3/8" lower than the sides, so when you carpet everything, the door would still be lower. Should be even."

"I purchased this hatch to refurbish my bassboat. The hatch was exactly what I needed to add storage to my boat. Hatch is easy to install and my boat looks like it came that way from the factory. My only complain was that whoever assembled the hatch lid at the factory didn't get the hinge firm against the frame before they pop riveted it to the frame. It rattled badly. Easy enough to fix..........but I did have to drill out the rivets and put in new. Still, its a quality produce I would buy again."
