"It peels right off with the first log, ice, or just your finger nail. The manufacturer says it is not designed to bond to aluminum."

"The two sticks that you get go along way! I have a older 16 foot boat. The two sticks did about 3/4 of my boat, I patched every rivit under my boat. Everyting is still holding water tight so far."

"I have used this product a few times in the past and will continue to use it. It takes a few tries to get the hand of it, but when you got it, you are home free. Works wonders on my old flat bottome. a wire wheel on a cordless drill and some microfiber cloth and a cleaner is all you need."

2nd time,
July 29, 2009
By jearly68
from Charlottesville, Va.

"This is the second time i have used this product on a jon boat and once again it did the job. No muss no fuss just heat leak with torch and use it like solder. Used on an 1/8 inch gap in seam at rear of boat first time and it stooped the leak completely. This time it was a ground whole in one of the ribs and again no more leak. If you own an Aluminum boat you need this product."

Dang good stuff,
July 29, 2009
By Beardawwg
from GA
|
"This stuff is awesome. I recently purchased an old jon boat. I used this stuff to seal up every rivet on the bottom, one hole, and a line of previous repair on the transom. It really works. Best stuff for Jon boat repair I have ever seen. I did not get full coverage on a couple of the rivets, but I just marked the spots, resealed them and now my boat is dry. I will order some more just to keep close by for those surprise leaks that sometimes show up in antique jonboats."

Not Good,
July 8, 2009
By Pappas
from Decatur, AL
|
"I bought this stuff for leaks in a 17' Alumacraft with a 75 HP motor. This stuff did not work at all. It pealed off in the critical areas instantly. Plus, when I went to clean it off to try something else, it wasn't easy. The wire brush turned it into a gum like substance smearing it around. Silicon works better."

Cabela's Aluminum Boat Rivit Patch,
July 7, 2009
By PackmanJohnes
|
"I had at least 800 rivits, most of them looked to be leaking, I could not flip the boat over, which made the job a little awkward, but I used a grinding wheel on my drill to clean the surface, heated the rivits and applied the patch. It worked great, just don't let the heated material drip on you, it really burns the skin. Flipping the boat would be the ideal situation."

Aluminum Boat Patch,
June 24, 2009
By Clutchdog
from Vermont
|
"Outstanding product. Easy to apply once you get the temperature right. I used it on a 1963 row boat and now have zero leaks. If you are going to primer, or paint over it, make sure you scuff up the surface pretty well with about an 80 grit paper."
