Deco flooring,August 17, 2008
By KatoNC
"Some pros, cons, and recommendations. Pros - easy to work with for cutting and folding on corners and edges. Lightweight. Cons - Seems very stain prone. I let two of my dogs off the boat on a sand / clay bank to cool off and everything they tracked back into the boat seemed to really stick in hard. I first tried water and a brush as their advertisement said and that didn't work at all. I had used 409 and two different hardness brushes and still scrub the livin' bejeebers out if it and still there are light stains. DO NOT use the amount of glue recommended on the pail if you buy it from Cabelas. It will be impossible to roll it out smoothly and you will have tons of excess oozing out the edges. I switched to an 1/8" trowel and that worked pretty well."

Good Product,August 14, 2008
By Bundyfrom Brisbane, Australia
"I used tan Deco Dot on a new boat and when I finished it just looked great. It is easier to apply than marine carpet and does not soak up water like carpet does. I have used the boat on several fishin trips and all you have to do is hose out the boat. It also protects the ply floor because it seals it from the elements. Altogether a terrific product."

Deco Dot Flooring,June 8, 2008
By Tuhlmannfrom Madison, WI
"Used this as a non-absorbant and non-skid flooring surface over plywood for my jon boat. I thought when I purchased it that it would either be very slip resistant or very slippery--turns out the dots are small, quite pronounced, and dense, so the surface is very grippy! Vinyl layed very easily with the help of my wife's hairdryer, since it was in the low 50's when I laid it. I chose this product over marine carpeting since it won't absorb water and add weight, plus I can hose it off when the mud accumulates during duck season. Overall, a very good value in marine flooring!"

Deco Dot Floor Vinyl,October 30, 2007
By MrVmanfrom Portland, Or
"I bought this product to replace some panels in boat that were carpet. The Tan matched perfectly and was very easy to work with. Cabela's gives you a generous portion. I had extra left-over to line some bins, etc. The only thing I didn't like about it was the upholstery adhesive I used caused the vinyl to bubble. Most of the bubbles went away after it dried, but it would be nice to know what adhesive would work best."

So far so good,August 21, 2007
By duberfrom Michigan
"This flooring was easy to work with. I thought it would be damaged by the condition the box was in but it was ok. I thought it would be a little heavier. We will see how it holds up with the mud and ice in the bottom of a duck boat."

Easy on the glue,July 3, 2007
By Retired068from Lansing, MI
"When applying the glue for the vinal, more is not better! I had too much glue down and was pushing it out as I rolled down the vinal. It didn't look like that much when I started but it was. So take it easy when applying whatever type of cement etc. you're putting down. Also, I would recommend sealing any seams with a waterproof sealant."

A better alternative for Boat Decking,May 14, 2007
By TallManOutfittersfrom Gambier, OH
"I was looking for an alternative to marine carpet for the casting platform on my converted jon boat. The Deco Dot Vinyl turned out to be the perfect thing. It doesn't hold dirt like carpet. It is non-slip and so far seems very durable."

NOT WHAT I THOUGHT,April 30, 2007
By RDALGOfrom Gulf Coast
"The Deco Dot flooring was not what I thought it was. It is very thin and flexible much like what you would use on a vinyl top. I need something to cover the deck on my boat because the previous owner glued down carpet. I thought the vinyl would be easier to keep clean but it is so thin, you see every small bump underneath it. I wish I could send it back."

Great product, poorly shipped,April 17, 2007
By JohnDC
"The deco-dot product itself is excellent -- five stars. It looks great in my boat, and performs well as a floor covering. But Cabelas ships it in a way that results in quality reduction. They should roll the vinyl piece around a paperboard tube before packaging it into its shipping carton. But they don't. Instead, they just roll up the vinyl wiith no support, or backbone, to it. When it arrives, the "roll" of vinyl is crumpled and deformed from the jostling of shipping, and from having been stood on end. Worst of all, it has permanent crease marks in it due to the crumpling effect. It's a premium product for which Cabelas gets a premium price. They should spring for the extra cost of a paperboard tube for shipping so the product arrives in premium condition."

Installing Deco Dot,November 29, 2006
By SawdustSplintersfrom Retired, Chippewa Flowage WI Apr\Nov Walleye & Cra
"First of all, Mike at the Prairie store was a big help. Eight feet of new marine plywwod, 84" beam was more difficult than I expected. It was my decision to avoid any seam and "rolling out" any excess adhesive was not easy. Recommed extreme care in applying the adhesive to reduce this problem. I attached the plywood floor prior to the vinyl so extra time spent filling holes, sanding ,etc. is important to eliminate any "marks" in the vinyl. All flat surfaces will be Deco Dot thanks to Cabelas; figure twice the time to do the job right and extra hands help."

Deco Dot Floor Vinyl,November 20, 2006
By Froggerfrom Linden, Michigan
"Have been looking for a floor covering that would stand up to UV sun rays. I have a balcony off the master bedroom and needed it covered and sealed. I picked up a Cabela's catalog at work looking for a underwater camera and it fell open to the marine vinyl. OH happy day for me. I found what I needed for the balcony. Ordered and installed vinyl. Working out great. Thanks Cabela's. Now all I have to do is decide which camera I need for my boat."
