Great way to jump start your tying...,August 4, 2009
By dennisg501from Augusta, Ga
"Picked up this assortment as a way to start tying my own Clouser Deep Minnows. Great selection of colors and very usable pieces. Most of the pieces were the upper third to half of the bucktail which is the part that Bob Clouser recommends when tying his patterns."

"I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of bucktail in the bag. None of the pieces are very large but if you are just starting out or want a variety of colors this is the way to go."

Cabela's Best Grab Bag,March 21, 2009
By HappyBuyer22from SP, Brazil
"The first thing that shocked me was the amount of bucktail in the bag... I can surely say that it is equivalent to almost 2 whole bucktails (my bag actually had an entire small brown bucktail). There is no way anyone beats the price anywhere (and please notice that I'm in a different continent... so I really mean anywhere).
I tie mostly streamers, so the variety of colors and sizes were just perfect. And I guess I got lucky, because I even found 3 small pieces of natural, white and grey. Of the 30 items I purchased in a recent order, this one definetely was the most impressive and cost-effective in my opinion."

Saltwater Bucktail,July 30, 2007
By elkhunter300winfrom Birdsboro, PA 19508-9518
"The assorted bucktails work excellant for saltwater bucktails. I used each color for making bucktails for pollock up in Marshfield Massachusets. The Pollock totally killed the bucktails. They were very easy to tie to the hook. I used a size 4/0 long curved shank hook. They stayed tyed to the hook tight the whole time and still is. I recommend this for all beginner and experrienced fly-tyers."

Grab Bag,May 3, 2007
By FishermanCA
"This product rated poor in my opinion. The quality of the bucktail hair makes it very difficult to tie the flies such as those for bass. However, these pieces do provide hair that works perfect on tails and other parts of the fly. If you are looking for low quality hair that you dont mind wasting, this product is fair. I do not recomend using it if you are trying to learn the basics of tying with deer hair. The results are less desireable than that of higher quality hairs."

"The bucktail grab bag may be a good use when making streamer patterns, but if your looking into making bass bugs, or spinning deer hair, this product is not recommended. Cabelas has good hair specificly used for making bass bugs or spinning hair. As a expierinced fly tyer, there is some hair that spins, and some that does not."

Busktails are a bargain,November 21, 2006
By dale38from 68 year old fisherman from East Central MInn.
"50 years of walleye fishing have cinvinced me there are 3 colors necessary for walleye fishing, yellow, white and black. The assortment contains more than enough of these colors and includes some other colors as well. You use the yellow, white, and black to fool the walleyes and the other colors to fool the jig buyers."
