"I have used the competition with adjustable straps and clips which are easier to set up the first time. If the support pole plastic lasts(I did not read the reviews before ordering) I may add adjusttable clips. An additional support is required in the bow for my center console boat which would also be required with any competition."

"The item works as intended, however the construction of the item is questionable. I have had the item for about 2 weeks and the plastic end that the pole coonects to has cracked. If you get this item, be very careful during the assembly."

"I read the reviews prior to purchase which almost all had said that the plastic "T" at the top of the pole broke. Mine didn't break but it did bend alot, and I expect it to also break as time goes on due to fatique. I had to add another short support pole close to the bow to prevent a water from accumulating there due to the flexing of the straps.The manufacturer needs to come up with a better design."

"I have been using this boat cover support for several years. It works for me, however, every couple of years the plastic cover support breaks and have to purchase a complete kit instead of just the plastic support bracket. Even so, I still like this system of boat cover support."

"I used three of these on my 21-foot pontoon boat for 10 months, before some stiff wind gusts broke one of them. The broken support proceeded to put a small tear in my boat cover. Customer service offered to exchange the broken support for a new one, even after 10 months (very cool). I think that I will continue to use them.
Overall, a good product, but the plastic part on top should be stronger."

"This is the second boat cover support I have purchased. It works excellent for keeping the water from pooling on the cover. Our location receives a lot of rain yearly and this support eliminates the pooling."

"I used the support for the past two months, the center plastic pice broke in two. I did not contact Cabela's for a replacement or refund, I guess I should have. I have modified the support system and am now using plastic pipe secured to the inside of the boat. It works and it is cheaper than the Cabela's support."

"I put this boat cover support on my boat it was on for two weeks and the horizontal (plastic) piece broke. I have modified it with a 2x4 and will work fine but this product does not stand up to 60 MPH winds."

"This is a well conceived product but the plastic material used at the stress points won't get it. The very first time I installed the "T" support the bracket broke. My guess the plastic is just too weak for the design purpose. If cross member was aluminum I think the product would function perfect. Cabelas Customer Service did their job sent a replacement, immediately. Hopefully, the product manufacturer will do more quality control and replace the plastic pieces with something that won't break so easily."

"I like the baot cover support overal however the plastic tee assembly on top of the adjustable pole should be made out of a stronger material. Example to this is that when it is hot outside the Tee ends sag allowing the straps to also sag"
