"I thought I was buying normal size spools. These are really small spools. More than half the size of regualr spools. Definetly not worth the money."

"The 36-Spool Body Material Kit appeared like a great deal, but the ad was a little misleading. If I read the small print I might have figure out that the spools were a mini size(which does not fit my bobbins) by the dimensions of the poorly finished teak box. The flosses and tinsels are also a poor quality. Cabela's was excellent with my complaint, made good, and has a satisfied customer."

Way too small,

"I wanted to buy these at my last trip to Cabelas in Lacey, WA but when I got there and saw them in person, I was let down. I'm sure the material is okay, but the spools are made of paper cardboard and are half the size of a standard thread spool. These wouldn't fit in any of my bobbins. To say the least, I put the box back on the shelf and picked out individual UNI thread spools. Not recommended and my first negative review at Cabelas."

"If you are expecting regular size spools that will fit on you bobbin then you will be disappointed. I've made good use of the materials and am glad for the variety but this is not the value it appears to be. It is actually just a sampler. I don't know if it will help but the case is about 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches."

"Ordered the 36 spool tying kit as the price was great and the item pictures and description didn't say anything about these being sampler-sized spools of thread, tinsel and wire...regrettably, that's exactly what they are. Probably ok for someone just starting out in tying, but absolutely not for someone who's ever used UNI thread or any other top-notch threads.
The threads themselves were of a very low grade- breaking very easily and very hard to wrap to make a nice fly.
The only time since I started ordering from Cabelas that I've had to return a product- thankfully, the process is quick and painless and Cabelas customer-support was great to deal with.
My recommendation: stay away from this item."

"this kit is very small, check the measurements because i thought i could hang it on the wall, but it could fit into a cargo pocket. it dosn't specify but the thread is a little bigger than 1/0. the other things are fine and i have had no problem with the SMALL spools. 6 or 7 size 10 flies at the most out of one i got. 1/0 isn't a very good size to begin with so if you are a beginner, mabe not this one. But, there are other assortments..."
